Does no one outside the UC and Miami fanbases realize that this is essentially a home game for the Bearcats?

Betting lines are only based on getting the biggest number of rubes to wager their hard earned money.

Actually it's getting even money on both sides and collecting the Vig.

I'm pretty comfortable that our coaches won't allow it from the players, but I think a few of our fans may be getting overconfident about this game. Yes Miami lost to Marshall by a TD, but the stats were pretty even (neither team committed a turnover) and I'm sure a lot of us don't know or appreciate how loaded Marshall is this year. I could see them making a case for the G5 Bowl Bid if things fall into place for them.
Don't let their first game fool you, this looks like Miami's best team in years and I think Ragland is a much better QB than anyone UCLA threw out there last week. We are going to have our hands full and cannot afford a letdown.

I'm sure as heck not taking Miami for granted. This game could be tough.

This game is super important for the remainder of our season. If we win, we're likely going to head into a tough OU game with a 3-0 record to start the year. All it takes are a few wins to get the players believing in the coaching staff again. Butch Jones attributed the turnaround from 2010 to 2011 to players believing in the system after getting a few wins. After that happens who knows where this program can go. The schede is favorable and gives us a chance to be bowl eligible quite early. Ride the wave.

Miami will probably come out and do a solid job on both sides of the ball, take a lead but fail to capitalize on some easy opportunities, and collapse late. Same formula as our previous four games with Martin, the dude can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag against a team with half a pulse and a bit of talent.

Look, I'm not a Hayden Moore hater all of the sudden...
But, you can't discount the impact of his untimely turnovers and the way they swayed games. Ridder doesn't have to win the game for us. As long as he doesn't drop it on the ground or throw it to the other team at crucial times, we will win comfortably.
We're better than Mi-am-muh.

Couldn't agree more. Miami has been a formidable opponent for UC the past couple of seasons and short of a brain cramp by their QB last season, it would be defending the Victory Bell. I expect a tough game and a close score. Especially if UC can't find some way to get some more passes to our tight ends, running backs and couple more downfield. MU would love nothing more that to roll into PBS and humble UC in the afterglow of the UCLA victory.

Last year wouldn't have been a game if our receivers could have reeled in one or two more passes. Still, Miami has a shot at competing in the MAC so this game should be taken seriously (and I think it will be). Until our QB situation becomes otherwise, running should be the name of the game.

Coach has already stated that they have to keep the mo and be ready for this rivalry game. I look for them to repeat the formula at UCLA but look for some twists here and there. I agree that we don't need to be too cute at this point. Don't try to be something we're not. Ridder can manage the game, peel off a run when called and take care of the ball. Our front 7 on DEE + Wiggins should hold their own against My-AM-Muh (do your best Kirk Herby impression). Can't wait for this game to get cranked up!

Looking at that made me realize that there are now players on both rosters who were likely in nursery school the last time Miami won against UC.

The staff really need to work on the passing game plan for Riddler. It seemed they did not expect Riddler to stay in the game as long as he did and most the play calling reverted to short passes or screens. It worked against UCLA, but we will need to open the field up a bit more or teams will just stick everyone in the box.
UCLA may have had the most talented group of defensive backs that we have seen all season, so hopefully our WR's will be able to get some separation against Miami.
