Well, Coach was right. Warren got less touches - only 29 compared to 35 last week. Here are Warren's rushing stats tonight:

29 ATT
91 YDS
3.1 AVG
2 TDS

And, through two games:

64 ATT
233 YDS
3.6 AVG
5 TDS
18 LNG

He found the end zone and on a night like tonight that is all that counts. Through two games this is a fun team to root for. They play team ball and a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Warren's a breath of fresh air. A definite competitor.

On some injury report web sites I saw Doaks was listed as "questionable" with a shoulder injury. FWIW.

I think the Miami Crew doing the game on 19 last night said the Doaks will be out for at least 2 more game. Said they would need him for the AAC games. Which I think is right we need him back. Glad to see Thomas get some touches last night.

Yep, Thomas's one carry was for a big first down. He's definitely a nice compliment to Warren's thump. I'll be curious to see down the road if we show some two back sets as both guys catch the ball pretty well. Warren is an interesting guy as he seems to get better as the game goes on and the d gets tired. Folks get impatient watching a guy continue to batter into the line, but in the hands of competent oc it can work to your advantage. That final td pass was basically Warren's decoy. I looked at Miami's head coach after that throw and the pain was written all over his wet face. Warren should get half a score on that one.

It seems like to me that Warren if you look at him right after the runs he is like coach give me the dam ball. I can get it done. Love that.

Lol- at “the Miami Crew”. Their not supposed to lean one way or the other, but if you didn’t know better you would have thought Frey and Bray were employed by MU. They talked up Ragland as if he was on the short list for the Heisman.

Yeah the only time they talked about a UC player was for their Local High School play.

Yep, it was really hysterical to hear Bray's excited anticipation on every Miami passing play of a game changing completion.

Bray's been a Miami & Xavier "homer" for years on end. Never have heard him say anything positive toward UC.

I didn't think they were that bad for MAC announcers. Then again, the standard set in my mind is BGSU's basketball crew from a couple of years ago.

Currently tied for the NCAA lead in TD! But it's only the 2nd game so he's tied with 8 other players (and two of them play for Hawai'i, who has already played 3 games).

Posted this on my twitter page, but Mike has more TDs in two games and more than half as many carries as our leaders in those categories last year (Boone and Moore with 4 TDs and Boone with 110 carries).

All this kid does it grind out yards, keep the clock moving, score touchdowns, and doesn't turn the ball over. What a steadying weapon to have on offense. Today:

23 ATT
124 YDS
5.4 AVG
2 TDS
24 LNG

Through four games:

93 ATT
435 YDS
4.7 AVG
8 TDS
32 LNG

Yeah, probably the most underrated thing is the lack of fumbles. A lot of those yards are hard fought with guys trying to hit him and presumably the football all over, but I don't think he's given it up a single time this season so far. Knock on wood.

But I'm still looking forward to the return of Doaks. I don't think their styles are all that different, but I could see them really wearing down a defense between the two of them, especially if we can utilize both of them at once with one as lead blocker for the other.
