Quote:USC baseball coach Ray Tanner said Monday afternoon he is leaning towards starting his ace lefthander David Marchbanks Friday against Stanford in the Gamecocks' College World Series opener against Stanford. And that game likely will start at 2:00 PM eastern time. The official gametime announcement will not be made until 8:00 pm tonight, but indications Monday afternoon were that the Gamecocks and Cardinal will play the opening game of the series Friday afternoon.

Marchbanks seems to be the logical choice for Friday. Winning the 1st game (actually the 1st 2) is very important, & no doubt he gives us our best chance.

I listened to Sportstalk last night and the same things Phil mentioned, Tanner confirmed.

I am excited about this weekend, win or lose, the Yardcocks have been playing awesome the last few weeks!

Go Yardcocks!
