Perhaps the kid got paid and just didn't want to invest anymore in his craft. Being a Dallas fan, I see it all the time; they get paid and they coast. IF he gets another chance, I hope he sincerely gives it his best effort - which he obviously did not do in Denver.

As far as Denver not doing this or not having that ... when Aikman came in to the League, they had NOTHING. He, however, hit the books, worked on his mechanics and becoming a leader of men - anticipating the time when the team would have a supporting cast he would be the best QB he could be.

Of course they didn't have video games back in 89.

Lol what a joke. Yep Aikman was a leader of men... Had nothing to throw to... Irvin had no running back to keep defense's honest.... Smith

I wonder which teams could actually sign him, i.e., contract, cap space, etc.

You know, when he was here, even during his "shining moment" junior year, he would often start out with a streak of inaccuracy. I wonder if it's something a particular coach, Fuente or whoever, has to have an eye for and correct his mechanics, or mindset. Once he got going, he was really accurate and like others have said, he could make ALL the throws. It seems that some team out there will want to evaluate that arm in person. At Denver, when the coach that drafted him, Kubiak, retired, and you don't tear it up with the new guy, you've got to be nervous.

I don't doubt some of the critical comments made about work ethic, but don't have any reason to agree with them either, and since he went to HS at a small private Christian school, I can see that he might have behavior that people accustomed to the NFL culture, and general modern pop culture, would see as odd / goofy. You see that in general business too; someone who acts more like people did 50 years ago is seen as odd, whereas that person sees everyone else as crude heathens.

I hope somebody picks him up, just like all of us.

I do think his confidence was shot early on in Denver.
When he was here, Fuente told him he was the guy, thick or thin. He responded. He probably needs that kind of thought process to succeed. He didn't get that in Denver and it may not be reality anywhere at the NFL level.

Hope he gets another shot.

He had short comings here which were covered up by the offensive scheme and his physical stature. It was bound to catch up with him in the end.

Anthony Miller makes any QB look good.

Not in my case the only nfl games I watch have a Tiger involved.
And I certainly hope Paxton is picked up, but he may have to be content as a backup, but he can make a few bucks and have a long career

I agree. Paxton deserves another chance with the right team, coaching staff and GM.
Elway was not it. hope he get another shot. I guarantee he hasn't wasted any of his money on wild women and song. Keep the faith Pax.

At his age (24) will likely get another shot with someone. If not there is another pro league about to begin.

Well his total guaranteed contract amount was right after $8M. His agent Steinberg is not cheap but would not let Lynch go wild on spending. He is one tough SOB. So, I hope Lynch enjoys what he does the rest of his life because when it's all said and done, enjoying it makes life so much easier.

Paxton gave me a lot of enjoyment by bringing the Tigers (along with some other special people) back from the edge of irrelevance in CFB. I truly got a lot of enjoyment watching him and the others play.

I don't know if Paxton "deserves" another shot, but I certainly hope he gets one and makes a professional effort to get paid to play a game.

ROTO post:

Free agent QB Paxton Lynch will visit the Bills Tuesday.
The Bills are the first team Lynch is scheduled to workout for following his recent waiving from the Broncos.

Yep, he cleared the waiver wire, making him a free agent. Works out for the Bills tomorrow. He'll get a gig somewhere, while still getting paid by the Broncos.

How do you know so much about what Lynch deserves and his effort level when all a Denver WRITER could come up with is holding an iPad and we had 8 plays with no options when he was here (which is total BS)?

My view of him has not changed one bit. I said he had short comings while he played here and that opinion did not change.

Just grew tired of him not leading the WR/TE on crossing pattern leaving them wide open for big hits. Or forcing them to slow down to make the catch and losing the edge.
