The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
Jack Abraham is really good.
Quez Watkins is really good.

We're gonna have this combo for the next 3 years.

RE: The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
We scored over 40 points in the 1st half. That’s pretty promising even after you account for the FCS competition.

Not when 21 came off TOs. It's not like we marched down the field except for one drive. The rest were gifted short field opportunities.

I hear ya....

however, there are two things that stood out.....

JA made great reads with precision and quickness.....that's a biggie moving forward in the confidence dep't

our D looked like 11 guys playing with kinetic synergy....they were impressive

the only weakness I saw, was our OL when running the ball...

run blocking needs some serious attention....

RE: The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
I don’t care who the competition was the team looked like they are on the right path other than the already mentioned run production.
Moseley is the closest thing we have to Ito. He’s going to be a good one. Anderson will be a force to when he learns to block when not carrying the ball. I’ll predict those two will be a
combo we will be very exited to see in the future.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.

RE: The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
JSU seems to always have decent lineman. They stacked the box, and our QB and coaches were able to take advantage of that to the tune of a massacre. Last time I looked causing turnovers were an item were sorely short on. It was only one game, and the competition will surely get tougher. Coaches will look at film and see what us experts saw plus some. It will come out in the wash.

I’m just telling ya, don’t judge this team’s ability by last night. The best players in a JSU uniform we’re playing percussion.

JSU had no effect on Jacks accuracy or Quez’s great catches while being covered. Those translate to any opponent. I think we’ve found our next great qb.

RE: The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
Thoughts
Abraham looked solid. Should get better weekly
Q. Watkins - apparently wanted to make a statement. He did!!
OL - we could have a problem. Didn’t look good to these eyes
RB - damn I miss Ito
WR - as a group they worked hard all game
Defense
Looked solid. Only exception long ball will burn us this year. JSU had opportunity just couldn’t take advantage

Fan experience - stadium looked GREAT. Much better than pictures. Crowd was solid, not great. Video board and sound much improved. Replays could actually see what was going on.

I’ll stick with me initial W guess of 7 or 8.

Have been critical of the admin but many improvements made. Well done especially considering budget restraints

We converted turnovers into points. Oh, the horror. Fire everybody.

Four years ago, we barely sneaked out a win over Alcorn. We can go back to that if you prefer.

Id rather be critiquing a 55-7 win than a 28-14 win right now. There are some things to be worked out and cleaned up but could have been worse. We took what they gave us rather than force a run game that wasnt there. At least we werent being hard headed. Will find out more next week against a step up in competition. Schedule plays out well in that department.

RE: The Jack Attack and the Quezenator
Run game - Did not a happy fan make.

Pass game - 04-cheers
Special teams - 04-cheers
defense - 04-cheers
A QB with real potential - 04-cheers
Receivers that catch and run - 04-cheers

Coming out of a glorified practice game, I'm glad we really only have one area to b*tch about.

This is exactly why we want to start the season with a game such as this - find out where we need to focus. To come out of this game with one area of concern is promising in my opinion.

Am I convinced we can beat Auburn, ummm - no, but am I convinced we will be competitive with the rest of our schedule - feeling pretty good about that.

1 game doesn't make it so.......but yeah, it was impressive how he ran the offense....

his decisiveness alone was stellar....it was 1 or 2 read almost every time....that's what impressed me the most...

that's the kinda guy you go to the bank with....

Thoughts on backup QB? Marcelo did not look good, from what I saw. Tate made some good reads and looked the better of the two.
