RE: Prime Time college football TV ratings, 9/1 and 9/2
those numbers are not good. Obviously no where near as good of a game as we had last year- Alabama/FSU- that got 12 million viewers. But also Michigan/Florida drew really well last year 7.65 million. Didn't see the Washington/Auburn viewers number- but it was down 28%. 72% of 7.65 million is about 5.51 million so that's probably the #2 game of the weekend. So top 2 games last year with average of 9.99 million- this year top 2 games with average of about 6.14 million.

I mean, 1.19 million people might have watched Fox Saturday night but they didn't watch Nebraska vs Akron...

No idea what source was used in the OP, but Sports Media Watch is the go-to for CFB TV ratings. Here's their article on week 1 ratings, which (so far) includes only ratings for ESPN/ABC games. http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2018/09/...labor-day/
EDIT: He's got all of the week 1 CFB TV ratings posted now at the link below, and I think he will use the link below to add ratings for every other week of the season when they become available.

I assumed they showed a different game. Did they not?

NBC is happy:
NBC announces that Notre Dame-Michigan got a 4.51 overnight rating, the best overnight of any college football game yesterday.
That rating tied for the best NBC rating for Notre Dame football in 12 years. That was the Michigan game in ’06. (Pete Sampson via Twitter)

They did. Fox OTA simulcast the games they were showing on FS1. Would have been UTSA-Arizona State by the end of the Fox OTA broadcast, not sure what game FS1 had before that.

When I flipped over there, they were showing Baylor-Abilene Christian, picked up from Fox Sports Southwest. I changed channels, so I don't know if they showed the whole game. I just checked Matt Sarz's College Sports on TV website, and there were no games on other Fox networks at that time.
FS1 may have been showing baseball in the early evening window..I'm not sure.

Especially impressive given that it went head to head with two other prime time games.
