KSU vs. Illinois
Love some things we are seeing early. The desire to throw downfield. Thought the defense played well on their first possession.

Some things not so ideal. If the offense goes so fast and can't get 1st downs, the defense will be dead tired by halftime.

Some awful.....the punter through 2 attempts.

Enjoy the 4th and nine at the 44 call call! First down!

I wasn't a fan of 4th and 9 but it worked! And now a 7-3 lead.

Dixon scoring the season's first touchdown to take the lead I'm a big 10 stadium is a really awesome moment.

It is crazy the difference the pace of the offense is from last year. It makes the play way more watchable.

First, I do not understand how you can make such horrible punts at the D1 level. However, if it wasn't for bad punts I'm not sure we go for 4th and 9... which means no touchdown. So... bad punting = touchdowns!!!

This is a proven punter ... one of the better ones in the MAC, actually. Wonder if there is some kind of issue/injury????

It's not Derek Adams punting today. reports say he was injured in the earlier this week. The backup is punting today.

Looks like we might have a good QB to head this team up.

If by proven punter you mean Derek Adams, then I would ask what has gone so wrong. But there was a report at the beginning of the game that Adams is out with an injury. I believe it is Grant Urenovitch.

Some of the best QB play (throwing and running) I've seen in a while. Pair that with WRs making the catches and we've got ourselves an offense!! Defense is respectable... but needs to tighten up coverage and tackling.

Coaches sometimes don't like to spend scollys on punters. My friend was really good and went to the Kent camp a long time ago. The coach wanted him to walk-on - he wanted a scholarship. Ended up going D3 where he was a good punter and, according to him, better than the punter Kent used for the 4 years he played college football.

At the time, the tradeoff made sense (he also wanted to play baseball and could at D3, but I don't think he would have played at Kent).

We are wayyy ahead of where I thought we were! A win would have been great, but I'm leaving this game excited as hell for 2018. I give Coach Lewis kudos for being aggressive & going for the win. Barrett is going to be a STUD!!!!

Btw- I only counted a couple of penalties! This team seemed calm and disciplined! What a difference coaching makes! More Kudos to Lewis & co!!!!!
