As was mentioned on our board by Arkstfan... TM isn't the kind of person to take a job where he'll have to placate 12 presidents and 12 ADs. Haha

I don't think Terry would ever want a gig where he isn't interacting with student-athletes regularly.
He is part of the graduation committee at AState and was on stage at my daughter's graduation. Nearly every student-athlete went over to hug, give a handshake or fist bump.

I know a large donor (not THE big donor, but a well into the six figures guy) was asked to step out of his office because a student-athlete showed up unannounced to talk to Terry. Guy got to wait outside with the secretary for about 10 minutes while he met with the athlete.

Our volleyball coach told me the first time he met Terry he was in his office and this person showed up in the doorway and chewed him out about the dressing room being a mess and the girls deserving better than that. Said he knew right then they'd hired the right guy.

Few years ago he's behind the end line on senior day in football. One of the seniors who had been in the dog house some as a younger player got a pick six late in the game, saw Terry and veered over to hug him.

I don't know the man personally but what I've seen from afar is that the man has 2 priorities in his job. The athletes first and then the program. If any other AD's are reading this, that's how you build a program.

oh to think about what Louisiana will have to pay once its our turn to re-up our AD. thanks for setting the bar stAte! but in all seriousness yall got a good one. the Sun Belt has been elevating because we have been hiring better leadership.
