Interesting piece. As we're looking at those attendance numbers, I just wanna remind everyone that UTSA only had 5 home games last year, since our season opener against UH was cancelled. That was sure to draw 35-40K.

Rice, and the F_Us did not respond to the request. UAB has an asterisk because they admit the count is inaccurate "due to operator, system or equipment error".

I've always said NT has pretty great attendance considering how awful we've been for the last decade. Hopefully we can continue winning and really increase numbers.

Can you spare the extra keystrokes to type FAU, FIU? Do you get charged for your internet by the letter?

Actually, no extra key strokes would be required since the "_"'s are keystrokes.

If he didnt use the _ he would have to type them both so it would have been 4 extra key strokes.

OK... So he did save some key strokes.... Thanks for that clarification... I'll remember this trick next time I refer to the F_U's.

True, except for 2015 where you averaged 13,631. What happened that year btw? I know you guys were bad that season (with your only win being over us), but it was a far cry from the approximately 19K you have been averaging until last year.

Fatigue. Tired of our head coach and AD in specific, and losing in general. Take out 2013 and we had won on average less than 3 games for ten years. Getting 13k to show up for that was a minor miracle. I consider myself a die hard and I would have sent my tickets to the president of the university if changes hadn't been made.

2016 we have a new coach and a new AD and they both have done a lot to reinvigorate the fan base.

P6. LOL.

MWC had better attendance than the AAC, and CUSA was comparable to AAC

Somehow the AAC fans think that they will get 500% increase in their TV contract.

To be fair, that's total. They still outsold us with 2 fewer teams. But yeah, agreed, I don't see why they would get some mammoth deal for a G5 with that type of demand.

Plus some schools don't have to report sales figures. I think that AAC total is out of 9 teams, and the CUSA total is out of 11 teams. MWC total is out of 11.

I think the truth scares a lot of teams. For schools like Nebraska and Michigan who claim sell out or 100,000+ streaks going back 50 years it's unnerving go report the truth. Trust me, they know. Hell, Michigan counts the concession stand workers and janitors as attendees to prop up their numbers. But worse is losing sponsors and donors by admitting (in the case of smaller schools) that we're not actually getting the 28,000 we claim to be getting...that it's actually far less.

The problem there is your stadium holds 30k. So if you get 20k it looks good. Or 18k. It's a little deceiving .

People are not taking into account what the stadiums hold. Alamodome holds 72k. Where the next closest is probably 51 at the Sun Bowl. Other stadiums hold like 12k or 20k. So 60% of that is not impressive . 69% of 30k is also not impressive .

Because Dallas is a city of 7 million with 3 FBS teams. 20k & 13k average in 2015 looks awful. But with their successs it should go up, but we need all teams in conference to get at least 20k or pack the stadium, sponsors & networks look at that and that's where we will make our money as a conference

Also after halftime a lot of stadiums don't scan tickets. So that's an outlier. Some students just get security scanned, not scanned like a ticket.

What does that have to do with actual butts in seats compared to what a school fudged numbers show? That's what these numbers are about...not the % filled

UTSA sucks but somehow we get 43k & 30k & this weekend against UTEP we will get 35k. When we play UNT we will see 35-40k. So it's a good sign if your team is bad and fans show up, just imagine if we were 3-0. And one year we will be
