UTC Possibly Leaving Finley Stadium
https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/spor...ow/477985/
From the article:
"Everyone's concerned about soccer and how they're going to put two teams in the stadium," Wharton said. "If we leave, we can have our own facility at 12,500, pack it, create demand and put footings there where if we have the opportunity to go to Conference USA or the Sun Belt, let's play."

Interesting article. UTC may come out good on this with their vision apparently on C-USA or the Sun Belt in the future. I know very little to nothing about Futball but it sounds like Pro Soccer is alive and well and coming to Chattanooga. Good for the city and my hat is off to them if they can get and sustain a pro soccer franchise.

CUSA or the SB isn't coming after UTC, well not CUSA. Even in their 10-4 season of 2014 and 2nd round of the playoffs they only avged 8700 then, not even half of Finley.

JMU next in line for C-USA and Jacksonville State for the SB.

JMU admin screwed themselves with both CUSA and the SB in the last realignment. CUSA on Final 4 weekend offered a package deal to ODU, Delaware and JMU to come in, both Delaware and JMU turned it down and ODU didn't have the option to come alone. When Wood Seling the AD at ODU got back to Norfolk the 1st thing he done was call the CUSA offices and tell them they would accept an invite even without the other 2. My take it will nake a new admin. staff at JMU for either CUSA or SB to accept JMU.

RE: UTC Possibly Leaving Finley Stadium
In their current state, UTC to Sunbet or CUSA is unrealistic. Their athletic budget is about a $million lower than that of ETSU. It takes around a $30-35 million budget to be successful in those conferences (MTSU is $34 million, App State is $35 million). UTC's budget is around $17 million, ETSU's around $18 million. UTC also doesn't have a baseball team, doesn't have mens soccer, doesn't have mens track and field, etc.
