We actually shut down Caleb Evans all game, then Garrett Smith came in and killed us up and down the field...I remember thinking, "who is this QB and why is he a backup??" Sad his playing career ended so quickly

Garret had two season ending injuries and had some other stuff done in the off season. He was going to initially transfer and had several offers to go play. IMO I think he wanted to stay with the guys he came in with and he’s going to be a coach so it was good for both parties. He’s good with hbd young guys and with Caleb. He played hard and had some moments for us. FYI he is eligible to play still for us.

I think if Caleb went down for year he might would come back.
