Nah, Houston won with FBS transfers and his own stud recruits (playing as freshmen and sophomores).

This is entirely untrue. Houston won primarily with Withers recruits and FBS transfers. No more than a handful of non-transfer kids in the Houston era played any major role.

Well, since half your statement agreed with half of mine then I guess my statement wasn't ENTIRELY untrue.

That actually depends. But, correct, fbs transfers were a major part of his success. Collectively, fbs transfers and his own recruits would not have gotten it done.

Maine had two long x-country trips within a week...Maine to Idaho, back to Maine, then to Eastern Washington. They had nothing left yesterday.

Worst scheduling ever.

When all the seeded teams win that's what happens. They went to Utah, not Idaho. Facing the #2 and #3 seeds didn't help.

If they had beaten us, they'd have been able to stay home for at least some of those games.

They were the #7 seed and played at home in the second round. They may have been as high as a #4 if they'd beaten us so likely would have had one more at home, and then a trip to Fargo.

CAA picked a tough year to have a bad run, though. Now, everyone will have a reason to argue not give the League extra bids in the future.
When your league sets a record for bids, it definitely helps to win over somebody outside the conference.

Yes. We beat Maine on the strength of turnovers. When I saw the Maine QB throw a pick and then fumble on the first two series, and then quick EWU TD's right after, I knew it was over and turned it off. Maine brings a lot back next year, as does JMU, Elon, Towson, et al. The new regime better have quick fixes for the offense for next year.

Yes .....and no. The CAA will still be one of the top three FCS leagues next year and for the foreseeable future --- and so they will continue to get their share of picks. Sure, one year the MVFC will get the most picks, another year it will be the Big Sky, but for some other years it will be the CAA.

Backing up what I am saying: I posted some thoughts about how the ACC got 8 seeded teams in this year's soccer tournament but yet only 1 team made it to the quarterfinals (and that one team beat another ACC team). Yet I am fully aware that next year the ACC will still get the lion's share of picks and seeds and few will remember and even less will care about how poorly they did this year. The Power 5 is a very aptly named moniker. Well, the CAA is actually one of the top powers of FCS football and is likely to remain so for a few more years, at least.

I was, more specifically, talking about those 5th and 6th bids. The next time that's possible, I expect there will be more backlash from the other conferences, that those bids should go to other leagues because "you saw what happened last time...".
I also fully expect the CAA tol continue with multiple bids.

EWU scores on fake field goal to make it 17-10 at halftime. Bison clearly the better team but EW ball to start the second half.
