The echo chamber

"...It was in The New York Times that Rhodes — not some shady memo author or scary Israeli black ops group — said, “We created an echo chamber.”

The New Yorker story notes that in his recent memoir, Rhodes walked back his boast, contending that “all I was describing was the most routine aspect of communications work. Briefing people. Disseminating fact sheets.” But that’s not what he said at the time, and it’s not what the evidence demonstrates. “They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say,” Rhodes maintained. That’s what they did, and that’s what they still do. Though he probably regrets boasting about how easy it was to dupe willing reporters, the idea that that he was talking about commonplace PR work is also absurd...."

Its really not surprising. We routinely hear reporters and commentators accept virtually any narrative or speculation thrown against the wall by democrats as "fact". Meanwhile, any data or viewpoint presented by Republicans is challenged, questioned, and undermined with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. Basically, all Rhodes said is what we already know. Nintey percent of the folks working in the mainstream media are hard left liberals predisposed to agree with a hard left position. All they really need is to be handed the DNC approved talking points and their marching orders.

Frankly, Rhodes is patting himself on the back for nothing. He didnt do crap. My guess is he had no idea how in the bag the media is for the left and how easy it was to get them all to fall in line and carry the water for the Democrat Party. I mean---Im sure he knew they put a decidedly lefty spin to the news---but I think it surprised even him just how far they leaned and how blatant their bias was---and how little journalistic scrutiny his talking points would receive. I think he was truly surprised that he could pretty much feed them any talking points he wanted to throw out there-----and the so called "elite" White House Press Corps Pack would then blindly push that spoon fed narrative as factual gospel. He probably thought he was the greatest behind the scenes media manipulator of all time. 04-cheers
