RPI Update is a great site, has WMU at 43rd and the last team in at this time (NCAA Soccer committee uses RPI basically exclusively).

Akron is just behind at 46th. Game at Akron next Saturday may well decide which team goes to the dance, MAC tournament pending.
Looks like now we are 47, and out. I assume a win vs Akron would get us in. What about a tie? Both teams will be fighting for their lives. The MAC tournament games, as well as league tournament games everywhere else, will also effect everyone. Will be an interesting couple of weeks I think.

Yeah, there are a ton of scenarios. A win over Akron, I think, would go a long way. Akron is very mortal this year but still extremely talented.

Also worth noting- the MAC now brings all 6 teams to the conference tournament (hosted by the 1 seed- West Virginia this year). If WMU beats Akron and BG doesn't win (likely) Broncos get the first round bye.

Just playing WVU again would be a boon given their lofty RPI (17th right now).

Bigger picture- it's great to see WMU even in this conversation in what's totally a rebuilding year. And the MAC strengthening can only help going forward. Fun sport to follow.

The WMU sports site says we lost 0-2, and so does the box score. WTF? I actually saw it earlier that we won too, so confused. Did you here it Flush? Or watch it?

***Edit: Its changed now. Shows us as the winner. I promis I haven't been drinking......yet.

WMU vs. Akron for the MACC on Sunday at 1pm. Two teams playing well right now. Unfortunately with an RPI at 44 WMU probably has to win the autobid to get into the NCAAs.

Should be a good game, we played WVU very tough during the regular season. We had more SOG than them, but it was a very even game which they won 2-1 with a second goal in the 83rd minute. Could go either way.

Well, looks like another Akron - WMU match for the MAC Championship.

Zips beat top seeded WVU 3 - 1.

Championship is today at 1 and can be watched on ESPN+

RE: Soccer
Game going as most Akron/WMU games have lately.. lots of Zips possession, good WMU defending with a few good counters. Nearing end 1st half 0-0

Defense was showing some cracks late but gets to the half scoreless.

RE: Soccer
Akron ices it with about 5 to play.

Good season after losing so much. Wiseman brought in some very interesting talent that contributed a lot already.

I think we added some huge talent going into next season too!

RE: Soccer
Coach Wiseman did a great job after losing all the talent we did last season. He brought in a lot of new talent and pulled it together to form a team. We have even more talent coming in next season.

Good run and congrats to Coach Wiseman and the soccer broncos! Next year we'll be Champions!
