Part D wasn't perfect but it was a huge improvement over the status quo.

It's sort of an aside in the column but hard caps on spending need to come down the pike. That's the core problem with most healthcare issues right now. The hard caps we have are beyond what many citizens can afford

We hit our hard cap last year because my wife had surgery. Last two months of the year I didn't pay for a medication or doctor visit. $6850 for three people isn't bad if you've got an HSA and can afford to fund it but there are plenty of people that would wipe out.

What I love about the Singapore system is the mandatory HSA contribution.
