I could see Loyola NO moving up to join their Jesuit friends at Spring Hill in the SIAC. I have got to think the SIAC schools look to New Orleans for their student population as well as athletes, plus Spring Hill would be a natural travel partner.

Loyola doesn't have the money. They really aren't competitive in anything, only recently making a little noise in men's basketball.

They are a HBCU so thier option would only be the SWAC and I think they are full.

That's not true, Tennessee St, Hampton?

Women’s Basketball...? Believe their golf program also has made nationals the last few years

They’ve certainly added sports at a rapid pace in the last decade too

Gold Nuggets drop home exhibition to SEC member Auburn

http://www.victorysportsnetwork.com/Clip...auburn.htm

And here's your answer to the original question:

NOTES: Why did an SEC team visit an NAIA school? XULA head coach Bo Browder explains: "One of my assistant coaches, Tarniesha Scott, has known one of the Auburn assistants, Adrian Walters, for quite some time. Auburn approached us late in scheduling last season. They needed to fill a spot. We helped out Auburn, and they promised to play a second game at our place this season."

I like when power schools play at mid-majors, DI play at DII, etc. In Charlie Coles' last season before retiring Miami played at DII Saginaw Valley State (he had deep ties in Michigan). He said the following about it

Quote:But I think Saginaw Valley was spirited. And I was glad that we gave them this opportunity to play a Division I school. Very seldom does a team that's supposed to be higher than you comes to your court. And I don't like that about college basketball, that a Michigan won't go to Western Michigan. They'll sign a 5-year deal and say "we'll never come." I never did get that...Gene Keady and Bobby Knight used to come to Miami, but they don't make 'em like that no more.

It's not like Duke will ever play at NC A&T, but I wish the committee placed a greater emphasis on road games (maybe even penalize teams for playing bottom feeders at home) to encourage it.

Some D2 schools do play better than some D1 schools. You do see upsets. i wonder the P5 schools changed the rules where lower level schools only be counted as exhibition games because some of them did lose to Alaska and Chaminade?
