As pathetic as our OOC home games are, our home CUSA games along with our OOC road games are pretty strong IMO for the most part. Road games at Kansas St and Wichita St along with hosting MTSU, WKU and Marshall should provide us the best chance to make a post season push if we can capitalize on last season's end of the season run.

From Dec 15th to Jan 5th is brutal. Couldn’t the conference help you out a bit and let you start at home?

Welcome to basketball at Southern Miss. We might be slightly trending up but relative to the country, we have a terrible program w/ zero value and power in terms of scheduling. It is what it is. Maybe we'll make a little noise this year and next year we'll have a better OOC.

Ours isn't great but that's life in non-power refugee camp.

That is one of the worst schedules I have ever seen... And I’ve seen ECU basketball scheduling before...

If I was a season ticket holder I would be so pissed. A whole month of no home games and only one home D1 game in non-con. Thats a tough sell to the fans who are paying so much money.

But USM fans aren't paying that much to begin with. We literally averaged like 500-600 actual butts in the seats per game last year.

That being said, our home conference schedule is about as good as you could ask for in CUSA: Middle, UAB, WKU, Marshall, La Tech, UTEP. If we can beat some of the upper echelon CUSA teams then our attendance will be night and day difference between the first half and second half of the season.

Tour AD needs razor blades inserted under his fingernails for a schedule like that.

2 D1 OOC home games in 2 years. Only at USM. Pretty sure this is Southeastern Baptist’s first season in 30 years (that game, btw, is not a exhibition).

We’ve always had terrible OOCs in hoops, but we kinda got it under control at the end of the Eustachy years and into the Tyndall era. We went from 4 non-D1 games to 2. We got some decent programs to play in Hattiesburg. Teams like Alabama, Ole Miss, and Rhode Island, along with decent-ish mid-majors like North Dakota State, Drexel, New Mexico State, and Georgia State. But then we got hit hard by the NCAA which set the program back a bit. So we’re back to scheduling like we did when Eustachy first got here. Buncha non-D1 games, a meh MTE, a couple guarantee games, then 1-2 regional home/homes.

Obviously, we’re not going to get Kentucky and UCLA to Reed Green, but I don’t see why we can’t replace Rust and SEB with regional teams like UNO, Samford, and SELA in home/home deals.

Now corrected. When I first saw the team I didn’t realize it was the college north of Laurel.

Apparently USM was supposed to play at Bradley as part of the Cancun tournament, but refused.

Hopefully non-D1 games don't hurt the conference in the new evaluation metric thing.
