I wish the Cincy series would have had some basketball strings attached.

Yea I like the Cincy series.......Have no idea why we would schedule a Sun belt series, next we will be scheduling App. St. before you know it....I want to schedule more American team Series and continue our 1 MAC game a season, Sun Belt could do without....

USM is scheduled to come to Troy next season. The end of our short-lived 2-game series I suppose.

Wouldn't mind another series since it's just a 4-hour drive between both.

Looking forward to playing WKU... Troy will make that 9-2 overall record against the Hilltoppers 11-2 after it's all said and done...

Salute Toppers for scheduling Cincy. Western ought to play them and UK and UL every year. Not so enthused about Troy for you boyz. Although MT had a healthy rivalry with Troy (although they killed us frequently); I'm not sure any CUSA school regularly scheduling our former Sun Belt brethren enhances CUSA as a league. Maybe an economic necessity for some of us? Does Troy have anything to do with recent Budget Cuts at WKU? We all need to continuously play AAC, ACC, and SEC teams for both the Exposure and the Money.

Not true. Scheduling and beating G5's toward the top of their conference creates a defacto regular season playoff for the NY6 spot.

For instance, in 2020 Marshall plays ECU, Ohio and Boise State. If ECU wins the American, Ohio wins the MAC, and Boise State wins the MWC. Then Marshall takes care of business against Pitt and CUSA it's hard to not make them the G5 NY6 rep.

In 2019, we've got Boise State, Cincinnati, and Ohio. It's sort of the model our AD is trying to adopt.

I like playing Troy for one (few) reason.....

2 hours away from white sand beaches and water temps in the high 70s to low 80s in Sept. or Oct. great fishing and reasonable to cheap beach/ocean front condos for a long weekend trip.

$500 (sometimes less) you get to spend 4 days at the beach, or fishing, or just relaxing on a 10 story balcony drinking a beer or coffee watch sharks, dolphins and rays swimming by in the morning or late afternoon. Then watch your team win a football game.

Can not get any better than that in mid to late Sept or early Oct

There's a ton of S. Miss fans that think just like TTT and not like you are thinking....

forget a name, its just that, a name of a team you used to be in a conference with. Troy on the other hand will bring more fans to their away game and S. Miss has a easier travel game to Troy.

To TTT and others they still think playing Cincinnati carries more weight. When in fact S. Miss is competing more with Troy for recruits than a northern base school. A school with just a old familiar name but playing at the same level as Troy. Probably not as high of a level right now....

yet some fans can't leave the past

Plus like I said stop over in PCB and see some clear ocean water not that brown water. Then drive up and get a win.

Here's my point: Us playing Cincinnati almost guarantees the game would be on an actual television. Prob something like CBSSports or ESPNNews, therefor more exposure for our fb program....than say if it's vs. UL-Monroe or Troy (and it being on a pay-to-watch streaming service). Sure...I agree that the TV ratings for ESPNNews/U/CBSSports games are never good no matter who is playing, but those ratings are a helluva lot better than the 100s (literally) of fans that may watch it on the whataburger app (or in our current state, ESPN+). We can assume that the ratings for the ESPN+ games will prob. be similar to the facebook-live games. I just want to maximize our fb program's exposure, even if it's just by a little bit more.
