I went with Pink...I really liked how he played last year. He appeared to have a lot of potential, but Dosh is the wildcard. I don't know enough about him to pass judgement.

JUST WIN!

1) Pinkney
2) D-Rob
3) Dosh

Its Pinkney's to lose, however....it will be interesting to see how he starts the season knowing he will be the starter....

Quote:PINKNEY TABBED STARTER

Last season the quarterback situation never seemed to get resolved. Already this summer, the Pirates have their man in James Pinkney. He's earned the position over Desmond Robinson, who was the starting quarterback at the beginning of last season, and Florida transfer Patrick Dosh.

"If we played West Virginia tonight, we know who would step out there at quarterback," Thompson said. "We didn't know that a year ago.

"He separated himself. Probably the disappointment from last year was that the quarterbacks never separated themselves. I think that put a strain on us and we didn't know enough about them. James Pinkney proved it to me the last three games (last season) and especially how he performed in the spring with how he threw the football."

PRAISE FOR PINKNEY

"He's got a live arm," Thompson said. "Let's be honest, he doesn't wow you with his personality before you get to know him. But he has a grasp of our offense. He got better every day. He's our guy.

"We weren't able to get the ball down the field throwing the football last year. I think we will be able to this year. There's no doubt in my mind."

WHEW...or not?
