NCAA dumps RPI for Men
I'm sure that CUSA and Sun Belt adopting new schedule formats to bolster RPI had absolutely NOTHING to do with the NCAA adopting a new ranking system.

This is interesting. Sun Belt hacks/exploits weak ass RPI crap and suddenly NCAA tries to go all BB analytics . . . who was behind this?

If Frank Broyles was still alive, he would be one to consider.

RE: NCAA dumps RPI for Men
Is there a way to see last year's RPI vs. what last year's NET would have been?

Is this expected to increase or decrease rankings of Sun Belt teams?

It's much more than an attempt. It's just one more step in the process that will result in the total separation of the P5 from the G5 conferences. It's a shame, but there's not a thing any of us can do to stop it. The P5 conferences, with all their money, rule college athletics.

It's not just the P5/G5. Every DI school that isn't in a P5 conference will be affected. This includes those whose FB teams are in FCS and schools that do not have football at all but are DI for BB.
They don't want anymore Cinderella 16's upsetting #1 seeds unless it's one of "them".

It wouldn't be a shock, to me, to see an eventual split in the tourney so they can cash in on all of the money and leave the rest of us hung out to dry.
