Coyle, who was drunk and appeared wounded, reportedly had gotten in a fight and been thrown out of a nearby homeless shelter.

Downtown Hope Center officials declined to allow Coyle to stay there but provided her with cab fare to go to the emergency room for treatment. Coyle filed a complaint with the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission, alleging the shelter had violated a law prohibiting discrimination in public accommodations.

Notably, the Downtown Hope Center's clients sleep in a single room in close proximity to one another. While Coyle might identify as female, the women in the shelter nonetheless might perceive Coyle as a man in a dress. And given the situations these women are fleeing, they might be distressed by having to sleep next to someone they consider a man. The city's equal rights commission is proceeding with an investigation anyway.

When these types of scenarios are brought up by people opposed to treating biological males as females because they feel like a female, we are told they are far-fetched.

and yet, there's a swath of the population who says people that think guys like this one in Alaska are sick-o's are the insane ones.
