My wife is a UH alumnus, but she sports UTSA orange & blue more often than she does Cougar red & white because she's taken away by my enthusiasm for and involvement with everything UTSA. She was never really into collegiate athletics when she attended UH, although she was an athlete in middle school and high school, and can't remember the last time she went to a Houston Cougar game. She does attend UTSA functions and games with me though when her schedule permits it, as does our daughter.

Maybe she just has family or friends who graduated from those schools, or there's some other reason. I say that because one of my UTSA friends, who has always been one of our best supporters, roots for Alabama as his 2nd team, the reason being that his family has roots there and they all grew up Alabama fans. There could be any number of reasons people pull for different schools. I likewise root for A&M sometimes (unless they're playing UTSA of course) because A&M is my younger brother's alma mater.
