Very impressive 3-0 win. Another effort like this and they could give UNC a run for their money. Have to wonder how High Point was seeded that high especially when Big South had been 0-9 against CAA going into tonight. Refreshing to see a solid men's soccer team. It's been awhile.

Yeah I thought I heard the commentator say that too, that's what prompted me to look it up. Apparently we made it to the Elite 8 in '94 and '95. Don't know why I have zero recollection of that, but it's pretty cool nonetheless

I can’t remeber if it was 94 or 95 but not only did we make it to the elite eight but we had a 2-0 2nd half lead over duke in that round but lost 3-2.

Was typical of jmu heartbreak in the 90s.

Fun game to watch even though I am not a soccer fan and I don't understand the finer points of the game. I was very impressed with the aggressive defense that seemed to rattle High Point all night. Wishing them the best of luck on Sunday.

VB: side note, the CAAT opens today with 2 quarterfinal matches. The one the Dukes are most interested in is at 6pm when host Charleston (the 3-seed) plays 6-seed UNCW. The winner faces the 2-seeded Dukes Saturday at 4pm in the semifinals.

The MSOC game between JMU and UNC is a bit more evenly matched than some might think. We average almost the same number of goals per game (1.72 to 1.7, advantage UNC) and have given up almost the same number as well (0.43 to 0.476, again, advantage UNC). JMU has played very well the last three games after losing the regular season finale, we get Carson back, and have played good teams very well throughout the season. Looking forward to Sunday's game. Rest those legs, Dukes!

I kinda figured it would be the case, but glad to see on JMU MSOC Twitter this morning that the Good Guys are staying in North Carolina and not going back to Harrisonburg between matches.
