Recent grad on questionable value of degree
http://thefederalist.com/2018/08/16/iden...e-degrees/

We had a discussion elsewhere on trends in colleges and was going to tag this along, but since I couldn't find it, it makes a good new thread.

"...This spring was set to be my graduation from college. Had I not sped things up and graduated in two years, instead of four, I would have walked across the stage, taken pictures with my family, and graduated with $40,000 in debt. I wouldn’t have been able to earn editing and writing experience (like bylines at The Daily Beast, Newsweek, Reason, and The Houston Chronicle). I recommend the same path to other young conservatives — escape debt and leftist indoctrination, if you can. Choose work experience, trade school, or a fast-tracked route through college instead...."

Dual Enrollment is offered by schools across the country.

You can take 2 college classes per semester over your junior and senior years. That's 4 semesters of 2 classes each for a total of 8 classes.

The classes are offered on-site at your high school. Rather than Algebra 1 or English 1 taking a full year, it's a college class that takes 1 semester. The 1 semester credit = 1 full year of high school credit.

You can take college freshman English 1 & 2 as a high school junior. Those two college english classes count as your junior AND senior high school english.

My daughter, a home school senior, has been taking Dual Enrollment classes through the University of Memphis. Because she's home schooled she actually has to take the classes at the UofM.

Her first two classes were English and Psychology. I told her that she would experience teachers using classroom time to attack conservative values.

Shortly after she started she told me she was already seeing it. The teacher was blasting conservative views. I asked her who her Psychology teacher was. She said it was coming from the English teacher.

The point of my post is to point out that the attack against conservative values is very real.
