Has anyone signed upr ESPN+ yet? I just got an email from WMU that gives me more questions than answers. So to get ESPN3 you have to sign up for ESPN+ AND have a cable package - no cord cutters?

Important Information Regarding ESPN Coverage of Western Michigan Athletics

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- As part of the Mid-American Conference broadcast rights owned by ESPN through 2026-27, it has been announced that beginning in 2018-19 several MAC athletic events will now be streamed on the new ESPN App, also known as ESPN+. Please find important information regarding ESPN+ below.

In addition to ESPN+, certain MAC athletic events will also be featured on cable television platforms such as ESPN2, ESPNU, CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) and other regional outlets. When streamed on ESPN3 and all “TV Everywhere”, events are still accessed using your TV provider’s username/password. ESPN+ is an internet-stream only platform (separate from ESPN3) and is not included in cable subscription packages. ESPN+ accounts are ordered through the App and cost $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

All schedule and broadcast information for Western Michigan athletic events can be found at: http://www.wmubroncos.com.

Fans who have any questions about the new ESPN App or ESPN+, may contact ESPN customer care:
· Online: support.espn.com
· Phone: 1-888-549-ESPN
· ESPN App: Live Chat Feature
· ESPN Customer Support Available: 9am to 1am ET, 7 days a week

I just tried it out on my roku and ESPN3 worked for me without having to sign up for plus... but as I was sdcrolling through the upcoming events I saw a Detroit Mercy / WMU women's soccer match on ESPN+. If football and basketball stay on ESPN3 I'm good.

At least three football games are currently scheduled for ESPN+. Delaware State, @BGSU and @CMU.

WMU has three football games scheduled on espn+ so far, there are some that are designated as TBA. One of the games scheduled for espn+ is the cmu game. Can single games be purchased or do you need to subscribe for a whole year?

For $5.00 a month, cancel anytime? Hardly a budget buster.

RE: ESPN+
It's kind of BS that ESPN is both making our teams play during the week, AND requiring people to sign up for another service to watch those games.

RE: ESPN+
I attend a few Army games in addition to the WMU games I get to,see and thus am on the road quite a bit during football season, relying on the various apps to see the games I am not attending that weeks. Always amazed at how good the video quality is. I knew this day was coming though, when they would start charging extra.

I will probably try gaming the system a bit, using trial weeks, or trying other ideas folks here might suggest, but ultimately probably end up paying for the months of subscription I need for the football season. It sucks though.

I used to subscribe to the college football "game plan" with ESPN, to get all the college football games. If they did that again, and added a free subscription to all of the online coverage, I probably would do that. I am a college football junkie.

According to the schedule, the first ESPN+ game is Delaware State (9/15) and the last ESPN+ game is at CMU (10/20). All of the games after CMU are ESPN2, ESPNU, CBSSN, or ESPN3. So it seems to me, you could try this:

- Get the 7-day trial period the day before the Delaware State game (9/14).
- Pay for one month when the 7-day trial period expires (9/21).
- Cancel immediately after the CMU game (10/20).

Do this and, at least in theory, you'd only have to pay $4.99 for the entire football season.

Good plan, and I won't even have to wear a ski mask to pull it off.

Actually, I will be attending the CMU game, so if those are the only two games on ESPN+I should be good just with the trial.

Don’t know for sure, but I’d guess there will be some WMU basketball coverage too.
