RE: C-USA Non-Conference Schedule
9/1 is going to a fun one as a CUSA fan. I plan on watching FAU/Oklahoma at noon. Fire up the grill about halftime and do some grilling (with a TV on the deck). Watch Marshall/Miami at 3:30. Catch FIU/Indiana after that. Then tune into UTSA/Arizona State for a night cap.

It's like Christmas.

The Vanderbilt game is part of a 2 for 2 deal, so no much money there. Georgia and Kentucky I have no idea.

The game at UGA is 1.7 million dollars. Kentucky 1.2 million.

MT - how do you guys feel about only having 1 OOC home game and it being a FCS team?

LaTech - how do you guys feel about only having 1 OOC home game and it being a FCS team?

WKU - how do you guys feel about only having 1 OOC home game and it being a FCS team?

I get some of these body bag games to get some $s, but I don't think we should be playing more than 1 P5 team a season. Should be 1 FCS, 2 G5, 1 P5, IMO.

Good, that will help offset 3 of 4 OOC games not being in your home stadium. That is actually good money for the Kentucky game. Would have been good money for the UGA game, if played 5 years ago:)

Schedule sucks this season, we should always have 6 home games....Maine? I love Maine as my wife's family is from there but still that is the weirdest possible home FCS game we could have scheduled. We could have put literally anyone else close and drawn more interest.

Next season is a lot better:
2019
•Aug. 31 - Central Arkansas
•Sept. 14 - Louisville (Nashville - Nissan Stadium)
•Oct. 12 - Army
•Nov. 9 - at Arkansas

Not happy about it, but I understand the economics behind it. Three of the four following seasons we have home games with Duke, Virginia Tech, and Missouri. So it kind of balances out over seasons. Can hardly call the game at Vandy an away game. A very drive-able game with plenty of tickets available so that any MT fan that wants to be there can be there.

Really excited about MT's future OOC Home Schedule; but I've always thought the FCS invites (except for neighboring Tennessee State who travels to Floyd), are a bad idea.

The fact that it's Army at home, yeah, next season is better. But, that is a odd distribution of dates. Hope y'all have another home game in Sept.

Vandy is an away game in the sense of revenue from ticket/ concession sales, I would think.

Gotta love VT, they will play a G5 on the road.

Do you guys ever play Chattanooga? SEC seems to love playing them. SEC has 16 FCS games this season, with Florida and Kentucky playing 2 each.

Southern Miss always has great attendance when we play MS FCS teams. I expect our season opener against Jackson St this season will draw more people than last years season opener against Kentucky.

Feel ya'. UTSA only had five home games last year since our season opener against Houston was canceled.

That Kentucky game is very winnable for y'all. I don't think Georgia is going to be nearly as good this year either. They lost both of their rbs.

Serious? Georgia is a national championship contender again this season, Georgia reloads, their rbs are just as good as chubb and Michel last season...Swift maybe fastest kid in nation and true freshman behind him was number 3 recruit in country, I think Georgia is going to be just fine at RB.....MTSU is not beating Georgia, would be surprised if they are within 35 points of them.......Kentucky somehow has a lot of talent this season at least through NFL scouts, they will have a lot of draftable guys in upcoming NFL Draft, while I think MTSU could beat UK, I predict they lose by 21....I don't think any of our teams are going to beat or come close to beating an SEC team this season, only shot we have is MTSU vs Vandy, that's it....

I think UK is comparable to Missouri and Syracuse, both of which we've beaten at their places the previous couple of seasons. Vanderbilt has had our number the last three times we've play them, but the last I saw, they are favored by about 4 points September 1. I would love to finish 2-1 against the $ec this fall. I think that's not an unreasonable thing to ask for...

Yes, I predict MTSU will beat Kentucky this year. I don't think they will beat Georgia, but Georgia isn't going to have nearly as good of a team this year as last. They lost both of their veteran rbs from last year. As I stated above. Zamir White the other rb I believe you are talking about just tore his ACL 5 days ago.

I didn't know about White, however Georgia still has good depth at RB, that I am sure is the last position they are worried about. RB's are easily replaced at both college and NFL level, you can come right in as freshmen and get it done at RB. I think Georgia will be just as good as last season but we will see.....

Nah, the most irrelevant FCS team that one could schedule is one that Rice scheduled in 2015... Wagner!

At least Maine Football has had some NFL guys go through there and is a flagship state university.

We are not particularly happy about it. Crazy enough though, we have actually done better in years with 7 road games recently. We also haven't enjoyed much of a home field advantage under Holtz. Who knows.

Maybe it'll mean more LaTech fans make the road trip to Hattiesburg.
