100%. Plus we are now out on Walker and Walton. We may be putting the full court press on Hurt, but I simply just do not see it.

If we can lock up Wiseman, Watford and Jeffries in the next 2-3 months, we'll be sitting pretty and then let the chips fall where they may in the Spring.

Yep. And we can’t take them all.

Don't forget Dandridge . . . Wiseman/Watford/Jeffries/Dandridge is def a top 5-10 class if not in the top 5. I would be more than happy if that was the class.

I predict the class will windup being Wiseman, Jeffries and Dandridge. If, room becomes available for one more my preference would be Boogie Ellis.

So.. you think we are very likely to lose out on Watford to Indiana (you would be one of the very, very few to make that prediction - most think Memphis or Alabama) but you think we are in on Boogie Ellis who most everyone predicts to stay out west?

Just asking - have you come across any non-public info?

We have at least 5 schollys next year. So there will be at least 1 more.

I really still think all the stuff around Watford not going to Memphis is subterfuge. Unless there are some shenanigans involved, I think by the time the early signing period is over, we'll have locked up:

Dandridge
Jeffries
Watford
Wiseman

I think things are changing for Watford and don't get me wrong, I want him at Memphis.

I've heard scuttlebutt, me piecing what was said on the radio and reading certain articles between the lines. I believe Daddy Watford has changed his mind about Memphis. See, behind the scenes big brother (Christian Watford) is a die heart Indiana Hoosier, he played there. Yet, that's not the reason things have changed but you can rest assured big brother is talking.

Daddy Lawson is hating on Memphis & Penny and with Penny it might be mutual. Lawson said on the radio that he had a talk with Daddy Watford. Daddy Lawson didn't say what was discussed but he said he was honest with Daddy Watford BUT WOULDN'T ELABORATE. I soon notice a ripple in what was now basically being said from the Watford camp. Things like "I have to watch out for my son best interest", "I need to trust wherever I go I'll be allowed to play my game" and "We still like Mike Miller but". Comments like these are indicative of a shift change which once was glowing of Memphis and Penny.

The connection is Lawson. He said Wiseman is more than likely going to Memphis. When asked why, he said Penny is going to let him do whatever he wants in laughing bitter tone. When asked about Cal doing that, he said you know Cal isn’t having that, said proudly. Having heard him say that, how hard would it be for him to drop salt on the program

Why the hate? I feel the fans; the University and Penny have hurt the Lawson's feelings. I understand the thin skin from the fans voicing their displeasure and the University's handling of him coaching but why hate Penny? Well, from my understanding Penny got involved with the altercation between Joe Jackson and the Lawson boys (I think it was said Penny barred them from his gym). Notice how Penny is not recruiting Chandler or Jonathan. Daddy Lawson seems perturbed about the rejection. Bottom-line I feel the water has been tainted, can it be reversed? I don't think so.

PS: Oh, about Ellis. If, Watford is not coming, and somebody leaves that's just my preference. I have no idea where Memphis stands with him, but Boogie is a scoring machine. Hey, who knows maybe it can all be cleared for Memphis and Trendon Watford, things do change.

There are 13 players only allowed for 2019 and I have no idea who is not returning to this team. Here is a list of players that are currently listed and should have a scholarship unless something changes but until then they're on the team. That leaves only 2 available scholarships left. I have no problem with anyone inserting a recruit but who's leaving and why?

1. Tyler Harris
2. Alex Lomax
3. Antwann Jones - It's been stated before his injury he could have been a one and done guy ???
4. Victor Enoh - a number of people are picking him to leave (totally unfair) ???
5. Isaiah Maurice
6. Lance Thomas
7. Karim Sameh Azab - possible health reasons (prayers for complete remission) ???
8. Jayden Hardaway - I've heard people say Penny might pay his way (unfair) ???
9. Ryan Boyce
10. David Wingett
11. Dandridge
12. ???
13. ???

Are you seriously saying that penny will keep his son on scholly at the expense of a 5 start recruit? If he does he should be seriously criticized and made fun of for a stupid decision

Dude, I am not saying anything but it's unfair. Stupidity has nothing to do with being fair. This is like someone offering me 5 million dollars for my daughter when she is priceless. I guess some people would criticize me and call me stupid for not doing the exchange.

Whatever Penny decides he is ultimately responsible and I believe in him. I don't take you for a callous person, so, I am going to blame it on your fandom.

No Penny is getting paid to put the best team in the floor.

Whether Jayden is on scholly or not does not affect Jayden in any way and him being a walk-on is an advantage that penny can use to accomplish the above goal of putting the best basketball team on the floor.

Again if penny loses any players because Jayden is on scholarship it is essentially malpractice. There is no reason for him to be in scholarship

I believe he is getting paid to win championships. The best team on the floor doesn't necessarily win but the team that plays best together does.

Whether Jayden is on scholly or not does not affect Jayden in any way and him being a walk-on is an advantage that penny can use to accomplish the above goal of putting the best basketball team on the floor.

Jayden's role on this team is defined by Penny. I don't question that, I stand by the coaches' decision. I only question the results. I know there are roles that every player has to play & that 5 star guy may not want to play the role designated for him.

Again if penny loses any players because Jayden is on scholarship it is essentially malpractice. There is no reason for him to be in scholarship unless penny cannot afford the cost which I seriously doubt

The team is composed of several different components all working toward the common good. Penny understands this. What I am afraid of is people losing site of how far we have come since Tubby. Penny is being paid way less than Tubby or any D-1 coach that is doing as good as he is. He is doing all of this for the sake of the University and Memphis. Yet, we want to complain about his son, I repeat, his son being on scholarship. Really? Drop the mike.

I can not believe that some of you are calling it a malpractice if his son is on scholarship and a 5 star becomes available that he has to give up that scholarship. First of all, you can have too many chefs and not enough servers. Some if not most 5-star recruits come with a lot of baggage, does that mean you do not go after them, of course not. But it does mean just because one becomes available that you drop everything, you listen and you evaluate the situation (chemistry of the team and what they may bring to the table). Now if the right 5-star recruit comes along then, of course, Penny will do the wise thing and make room for him, but everything that glitters is not gold.

Penny is a smart man. Some of you guys act like you know more than he does. I would think we owe it to him to put whatever friggin roster he wants on the floor.
