I think we can win this conference with Abraham as long has he gets a little help out of the O-line/RB positions. I agree that if Johnson is as good as expected, Whatley will be a career backup.

Who knows, Johnson could be the backup and Whatley 3rd string...

The DB was laying on the turf before the receiver caught the ball. Receiver could have been 24" tall and would have still had a height advantage on DB.

Anyway, it was a good read by Abraham that there wasn't any safety help.

He did throw it about 50 yards down field though. Not bad. From my viewpoint his arm is a little weaker than Mullins or Davis. But that is not the problem. He doesn’t make the decision fast enough and doesn’t get the ball downfield fast enough. He throws that TD pass .5 seconds faster and it’s a beautiful thing.

he's Jeff Kelly TTT....

Now he is being used as an example of what a quarterback should look like. If Abraham doesn’t have seven passes dropped he would have been 25 of 28 Saturday. The interception pass was badly thrown by Abraham.

so were many other top 25 teams' qbs....

the question that remains is do we have a staff that can engineer a game plan around him with an average OL and non-existent running game....

those are the facts as they exist today....

Had the DB not fell down, it would've been a 50/50 ball between 6'2 Neil McClaurin and a 5'11 DB - I like our chances in this all day. But you're right that he prob could've put a little more mustard on it and hit him in stride.

Well he had to slow down his route and still caught it at his chest so I don't think height would really come into it. I think the defender would have been in better position because your receiver had him beat.

The only video I've seen is of the live TV shot and it barely shows the DB getting his feet caught w/ the WR's and then the WR slows down a tad. Not really enough video evidence to suggest otherwise. Is there another angle somewhere?

It wasn’t “mustard”. It was timing.
