Only 10? Not bad, considering. I know the loss to Iowa was horrible but one game doesn't make a season. This team still needs support.

I've been a HUskie fan a long time and have seen conditions much worse than this. (Remember the 90's losing streak?)

I hope to see Huskie Stadium rocking this Saturday. Looking forward to some good deep dish pizza and brats this weekend, too.

RE: Utah v. Northern Illinois
For the caliber of program that Utah is, 10 points is very generous to NIU. While not carrying the cachet of the higher profile PAC-12 teams, Utah has demonstrated the ability to play with any of them since leaving the Mountain West in 2011.
We may not know who they are, but the USCs and Stanfords sure do.

NIU had a solid 1st half performance at Iowa.....but then pooped their pants bad in the 2nd half. This is a relatively young team...we will see.

The coaching will easily allow Utah to cover. We will air it out even though we can pound the rock against the Utes and despite another heroic effort by the defense in the first half we will lose 48-13 with the D scoring a TD for us. The coaches will leave the defense high and dry.

NIU defense will keep it close in the 1st half, but will be gassed in the 2nd as our offense continues to be impotent.

Utah 31
NIU 3

There is a potential of some very heavy rain on Saturday, which team would that favor if it happens and if game is able to be played?

Weber State had 70 yards of offense. Utah threw 39 passes for 250 and 4 td.

NIU's best chance is tropical storm remnants to make this a run only game and force Carey to stay dedicated to it, give it to a RB more than 15 times.

Ironic that Miami got 6 inches of rain on Labor Day from the tropical storm, and I'll be sitting in the same tropical storm in DeKalb on Saturday.

This forecast is going to be very interesting, the potential envelope of solutions would have big impacts for DeKalb. Northern Illinois should be close to a cut off in the heaviest rainfall, and the cutoff could be sharp. Based on the new data coming in this morning, I am holding out hope for a southern track that would keep heaviest rain south of DeKalb! 1 big game in DeKalb in 15 years, the weather better cooperate.

C'mon, MD, use your power! Get up on the DeKalb water tower, huff and puff, and blow the storm clouds south of DeKalb. 03-phew

I wish I had the power! But I absolutely love the trends! We may be getting quite lucky for Saturday. Cross the fingers!

FWIW:

In the just released AP Poll, Utah just misses Top 25 with 71 votes. They are #26.

Iowa received 3 votes as did our future opponent BYU.

Just keep the beer cold. Bringing panchos. The Huskies better put on a #@(*%!^ offense to keep it interesting.

I got hit with outter bands from Katrina while on SE FL coast and then again in downstate IL days later.

I was supposed to go to Labor Day FSU/The U at OB in early 2000's. Game, flights got canceled due to hurricane . (Ivan?)

Seeing we will both be in DeKalb this weekend, maybe don't go to FSU game as I will and we'll find out who the jinx is? 03-weeping
