Wayne Graham's degree is from UH.

Trip Couch's hiring was announced by Rice. Immediately after that UH ponied up some more money for him, so he did a 180 and stayed at UH.

This was before UT hired him away.

From wiki:

When his playing career ended, Graham returned to the University of Texas to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education in 1970, and he later added a master's degree in education at the University of Houston in 1973.

Seems both sides are right. He is a Longhorn AND a Coog.

What is more amazing is how we still have Coog lurkers on this board waiting for stuff like this.

He played for UT and graduated from UT. That's always been where his loyalties lie (outside of Rice, of course).

New book : how to tarnish a legacy in a list of posts.

Coming 2018 by Skycatcher and Barbara Bottini

EDIT- this was in response to another scorched earth post by the aforementioned. It was deleted faster than Elon Musk's poorly advised ones were.

Where did the phony job and alum money come into play? Asking for a friend.

RE: volunteer coach change
Trip was supposed to be a "volunteer" coach at UT.

IIRC, a UT alum set him up with a no-show job at a beer distributorship.

Supposedly, Rayner Noble blew the whistle on that deal when he found out about it and then, ABRACADABRA! UT quit scheduling UH baseball for a number of years.

Re:last 3 posts...have I missed something?

Skycatcher made and then deleted a post that said Graham's loyalties to Rice are as strong as the Rice loyalties have been to him the last four years (implicitly not that strong). Then said that if Karlgaard is reading this, "do not have anyone contact Wayne to save your ass after your most recent snafu. It won't go well..."
