NC A&T may have to move from the MEAC
If the President of NC A&T moved football up, the MEAC would probably kick them out. The logical place to move is the Atlantic Sun.

Independence would be so expensive for NC A&T, so they need a conference and there is no opening.

Kennesaw St and Liberty could become opponents and might get JMU, Delaware, Stony Brook, Albany, Jacksonville St, EKU too. UNF, FGCU and UNA would have a future fb home.

NJIT to America East, and Lipscomb and Bellarmine to the Horizon to make room.

UConn and UMass as affiliates.

This would take several years

What in the world!?!..... are you feeling okay!?!
Now I’ve said all along N.C. A&T may be the next A-Sun team, but don’t expect a wholesale change like the one you layed out.

Been predicting the ASun will move to FBS for a couple years. As well as the WAC and Summit with new schools.

The CFP contract is renewed in 2025, which will probably be much greater, which new FBS leagues will want to be part of. Before 2023, their will be a lot of movement to upgrade football to FBS.

FCS schools lose money on FCS and they smell where more money can be made. Also, they would gain prestige and awareness.

The problem is that I dont think the NCAA will allow a new FBS conference...

RE: NC A&T may have to move from the MEAC
If the NCAA would allow a new conference, the ASUN would have probably already tried to take advantage of the situation, especially with Liberty in the league.

I would think, JMU would think they are too good, but a more realistic scenario would be

ASUN (FBS)
Liberty
KSU
UNA
FGCU
UNF
JSU
Chattanooga
EKU
NCAT
Hampton

Non FBS or football Lipscomb, Stetson, Jacksonville, Bellarmine.

Stetson and Jacksonville would remain in the Pioneer League.

JMU will go if Delaware and Stony Brook go.

UNF will start football if the Jacksonville Jaguars move.

FGCU will start football when enrollment rises above 20,000 and gets a decent FBS stadium. It’s at 15,000 now.

Liberty showed they didn’t need an FBS conference to go FBS. Any movement to freeze the number of FBS conferences would be overturned by a court.
