I agree but...this is a market that ODU will try to follow and utilize. Plus transfers as well.

I agree, too low.

This is No.1 ranked Baylor. There are several volleys that would have hit the ceiling. IMO.

Really guys....it is the same ceiling height that the basketball team practiced in. Many programs use the same ceiling height. If it wasn't satisfactory they would have never been allowed to use it by the NCAA for games. Worry about recruiting and the team composition not abut the facility. It will be fine and honestly this looks very nice.

It meets the minimum height requirements set by the NCAA. They're different requirements for new constructions (25ft) and for renovations of older buildings (23ft).

I didn't realize we had such an international roster for the new volleyball team, with players from Italy, Russia, Argentina and Australia. Even the U. S. players are widespread from California, Texas, New York, Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia. Now that's what I call doing some real far-reaching recruiting.

Looks like Jan. 24th will be our first chance to check out the new volleyball team and facility in person.

I wish they defined "limited attendance." I definitely plan to go, but I wish they told us the number they are going to allow in.

Those matches are going to be fun next year, if we're allowed to fill the gym. I went to a couple matches this year, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they played, given their youth and inexperience.

How good are any of these teams? And why is Loyola Marymount in Lynchburg? Tournament?

It’s a tournament that Liberty is hosting.

All of ODU's OOC matches appear to be in four-team events where you play the other three over a weekend. Monarchs are hosting two events and visiting Liberty and Appalachian State for the other two.

a loud crowd of ~500 watched a spirited match between the Monarchs and West Virginia, opening night. ODU is very young, maybe 1 senior and a couple of juniors. So much fun to watch.
