I'd also guess that having the major D1 school in the region sponsoring women's volleyball with a newly refurbished home court might also help generate some interest in player development.

Exactly my point. Volleyball in particular requires a well integrated training and development program between clubs, HS, athletic training facilities. It is very difficult for women's volleyball to grow D1 talent outside the South, SW, and West coasts. Recent several states in the midwest have ramped up volleyball training and development for girls because of the opportunities at the D1 level.

Looking at their roster
They recruit very well across the country.

Smart move bringing Carolyn along. She played volleyball at Notre Dame.

I think we could be very good at volleyball. Just need the right person to lead the program.

Any news on this? Aren't they supposed to hire a HC by the end of January?

That is the same picture used by Duke when he was hired there 22 months ago as an assistant.

Looks like we were the only ones that didn't have Women's volleyball in the CUSA.

I think there are only 18 (now 17) D1 schools without volleyball.

There are now only 2 DI FBS football schools without a women’s volleyball program.

It's a great way for football schools to balance for Title IX.

I wonder if we ever thought about bringing back track & field but on the women's side only? Some of the league schools have pretty good women's track. And the Monarch track program was pretty high level track back in the early 80s.

But where on campus would we find the space for the venue? If it would have meant building the new football field with a track around it I am glad that didn’t happen!

With volleyball that make 10 womens sports and 9 mens sports. I thought there just had to be a least and equal number to satisfy Title IX requirements.

It's the amount of scholarships, not just the number of sports.
