I have a couple of friends, married couple, that both had their vehicles broken into and vandalized in Memphis (Cordova area) just a few days apart. Memphis Police don't really care.

I don't think it's that they don't care so much as their hands are tied by a justice system that doesn't prioritize these types of property crimes properly. Even if they do place a high priority on them they are undermanned and outgunned by the sheer numbers of Danish youth who are being exploited by organized crime to commit these breakins. When they are able to catch some of them they are mostly juveniles who are back out on the street in no time.
Because these property crimes aren't - for reasons legitimate or not - investigated more vigorously, at some point someone is going to get hurt. I hope it's one of those kids and not someone's grandfather.
Yeah, I probably didn't mean that the way it came out. I'm normally pretty pro police.
It does illustrate the point that police can't prevent crime, they can only investigate it. I wonder if libs think about that when they're getting mugged and raped and murdered.

Vehicle thefts in Memphis up 155% over last year.
Our neighborhood group on FB has daily posts about car breakins over night.
Young couple across the street... their cars were broken into in their carport a couple of weeks ago.
The garage we use for repairs was broken into 3 weeks ago and again last week. Each time they destroyed 1 of the garage bay doors.
My beloved Silverado was stolen about 5 years ago. The cops took a report and told me not to expect to ever see it again. I moved out of Memphis a couple of years later.

Sadly if you step in and interfere with these criminals to stop them ,You likely are the one that gets hurt or charged with assault while the criminals are set free
