Things I've heard from the KSU side.
-Georgia Southern will be left behind with Mercer while KSU becomes GSU's main rival at the FBS level.
-Georgia Southern is terrible (implying KSU>GS) and KSU runs the "real" option...which is why Bohannon is loyal to KSU over GS.
-There is no difference between SunBelt and Big South
The arrogance is real after just 3 seasons in the FCS...
Pot meet kettle
In the KSU-GSU game thread on the Southern board, someone was convinced your program was headed for No. 2 or No. 1 status in the state before the coaching debacles...overtaking both GT and UGA.
Now THAT arrogance and delusion is real.

Any alumni that would be interested in playing KSU every year probably don't follow football very well, much less support the Troy program enough to even have a say.
CBT use a little vision.
The circumstances would be that KSU would build a 30 to 35 thousand seat stadium.
Then Troy would play at Ga State in the odd years in ATL and the next year play KSU in the even years in ATL. Therefore, you always have a game for your ATL-Troy alumni to come cheer on the Trojans.
How many of your Alumni live in the ATL region?
A lot of Troy alumni are in the ATL area. That doesn't mean they want Troy playing KSU every year. We were just fine for decades not having a conference rival in ATL.
I live in Tampa, FL and there's a decent amount of alumni in the central Florida area... doesn't mean we want Troy and the University of Tampa to start playing each other. Give me a brand name team like USF or UCF. Kennesaw State isn't a brand.
Now, if KSU moves to FBS as an independent and starts beating CUSA, MAC, AAC, and a few P5 teams consistently... I might change my mind.

It was a perfect game for the students to get energized around the program. We usually get those type wins toward the end of the season once the damage has been done. It will be interesting to see how many students are in attendance in 3 weeks.

High notes: attendance was pretty nice at 23k, and broadcast was very clean
Mid: state struggled but won
Low: if those were sun belt refs id rather we grab some random youth league refs.

Quote:During the early days of spring practice, Elliott sat down to talk with Ellington about his goals and aspirations (at the time Ellington was fighting for a starting spot at quarterback).
Elliott knew the type of athlete Ellington was, and Elliott said he knew the type of play he brought with him from Itawamba Community College. During the 2017 season, Ellington threw for 3,211 yards with 27 touchdowns. He averaged 356 yards per game in the air. So, really, there was never a question that Ellington had the talent for the spot.
But what Elliott needed was a manager on the field, someone to lead his team when it came time for a two-minute drill in the fourth quarter or a third-and-long situation.
When he spoke to Ellington back in the spring, Elliott quickly saw the makings of someone who could do just that.
“Dan walks in, and he sits down in front of me, and I ask him, ‘Dan, what’s your goals? What do you want to do here?’ ” Elliott said. “He said, ‘Coach, my number one job here is to win. That’s all I want to do.’ ”
On Thursday night, Ellington got his chance to prove it.
With two minutes remaining, Ellington – playing in his first Division I game – showed just what he could do in that situation, driving the Panthers down the field for the winning score.
“What a gutsy performance,” Elliott said. “He laid it on the line, and he did everything in his power. He willed himself to make plays. He willed that football team to move that offense down to get that winning score. … He’s everything you want in a quarterback.”

Elliot is now 1-2 as a head coach against FCS teams. Not sure I'd go for hype. GSU needs to be scheduling Savannah State every year.

Amazing given he works in athletics and knows this isn't happening because they are FCS.

Nah, they can pimp themselves to other SunBelt teams before it's our turn again. Start with Georgia Southern at Paulson

No, that's called stupid if anyone truly thought we'd take over #1. Absolutely stupid.
#2 honestly could be up for grabs if GT continues their up and downs and either we take off like a rocket again or Gast does. But it's not like that means it would be anything close to UGA. Everything would be second to that. We were on a good trajectory at the end of 2015....now it doesn't mean that hope would have become reality, but it was much closer to actually happening then than it does now.
We have some dumb fans.
