What's up with Louisville? First their wide receivers say they can beat the Alabama coverage, and now this:

Louisville OL says Cardinals could 'dominate' Alabama

Quote:Senior offensive lineman Lukayus McNeil on Tuesday said the Cardinals could have their way with Alabama's front seven, widely-considered one of college football's most talented.

“I understand that they got a good, deep front,” McNeil said, according to the Courier-Journal. “But we got a great O-line. So if we can dominate up front, then we’re not worried about the defensive front at all. I definitely think we’re capable of going out, starting off fast and dominating their D-line.”

ESPN's crew for the Wyoming-NMSU openly laughed at Louisville for scheduling the game. I believe Anish said flatly on the air "no chance".

TBH, that was my thought as well - a foolish game to even schedule.
That said, all this smack talk has piqued my interest - I'll watch at least some of it.

ESPN planting the seeds of another ACC/SEC rivalry game. Remember the Va. Tech/Tennessee game in Bristol?
Carolina has scheduled future games with South Carolina and Auburn. State has games with Vanderbilt and Mississippi State and even Boston College has games scheduled against Missouri.
Most of these games are not typical matchups for ACC teams. Carolina and Auburn have only met 6 times and only three of those contests were played after 1901.

Well, we beat Alabama in the Fiesta Bowl. They would not schedule us until now. We have beaten Florida also. 07-coffee3

Yeah, Louisville was given “no chance” against #3 Florida in the Sugar Bowl & look at what happened. I don’t mind scheduling Bama, we’ve tried scheduling Ohio State but they wont do it.

RE: 2018 Pick'em Contest, Week 1
With two games yet to be played, Week 1 is still very much up in the air. There are still nine players with a chance to claim victory, though no one player can win it outright. We could still have as many as six players finish on top this week.

Six players still in the running for Week 1 honors. If Florida State wins, we will have a four way tie. If it's the Hokies, two will tie for first and seven will tie for third.

RE: 2018 Pick'em Contest, Week 1
Congratulations to Week 1 co-winners, copycat and Kaplony, who finished at 12-3. They each get 3 rep points from me, and other players may feel free to give them rep in addition to your adulation.

Tech's win tonight also means that a bunch of players tied for third with 11 wins each. As a result, they each get 1 rep point for their efforts. They were:

4X4hokies
Bigtexnole
Buckminster Fuller
ChrisLords
Indytarheel
Ole Blue
Otacon

Something tells me next week will be a little tougher. I'll post the complete standings on the Week 2 thread.
