Bengals 2018
Sorry... Marvin and ownership are the common thread and they've missed needs and productive players in the draft the past three years or so and have let good players walk without a replacement. Oh, and we save our defensive quarterback spot for a player that misses four games a year due to his own selfish and idiotic actions. There is no winning culture in that locker room. They have become as complacent as their head coach and ownership.

The good news is we'll only have to deal with it for another ten years. After that, the lease will expire and the Bengals will be on their way to torture another city when no one here is willing to re-up.

RE: Bengals 2018
Ownership is so fortunate to have the Cleveland Browns in-state and in its division. For years, the Bengals have been able to avoid the divisional cellar at the expense of the worst franchise in the NFL. The worm may be turning.

How many years (decades) have we witnessed poor hiring, bad drafts, unwillingness to sign gifted free agents at critical times pre-season or obtain help in season to drive to the playoffs and be equipped to win? Why should anyone expect different results from the same mind numbing management practices? In the NFL oligopoly, the Brown family lives in the lap of luxury without concern about putting the best product in front of the customers. What a deal: consistent failure on the field; consistent earnings for ownership.

RE: Bengals 2018
The line of the day that I read: "The Bengals got beat by a High School offense yesterday"

Been saying it all year that the 4-1 start was fools gold. Colts 5-5, Ravens 5-5, Falcons 4-6, Dolphins 5-5. Only one of those teams is going to make the playoffs. Right now the Bengals own the tiebreaker but I don't see this team with more than 2 wins left in them. Not sure where people are seeing these 9 or 10 wins coming from? Everyone keeps chalking up a win over Denver. They've had one of the toughest schedules in the league and they just beat the 1st place Chargers yesterday.

I used to say Marvin must go, but not anymore, because it's just going to be Hue after than. I'm not sure that's going to be any better. But I do think Hue would stand up to Mike Brown a little more than lap dog Marvin.

RE: Bengals 2018
I wonder if this year changes Mike Browns mindset at all. They've been average 8-8 team before but among teams who play in NFL stadiums (LA Chargers not included) they're dead last in attendance. Oakland is losing their franchise, is the worst team in football, and is still outdrawing the Bengals. I have to think that Mike Brown assumed their hot start would bring the fans back.

It occurred to me watching the game last night that Chicago has taken a different approach. They move up one spot in the draft to make sure they get their quarterback. They hire a hot young offensive oriented head coach. They trade draft picks for the best defensive player in the league. I'm not saying all these moves were the right ones but they definitely injected energy into that franchise. I realize winning is the biggest reason but it wasn't much more than a month ago the Bengals were leading the division and the Steelers looked like they were imploding.

I really think bringing back Lewis was the last straw. Honest I'm not sure that they would of replaced him with a better coach but that's an easy way to infuse energy into a tired franchise. KC brought in a first round draft pick to develop behind a playoff caliber QB and is the favorite to go to the Super Bowl. Teams that trade for Khalil Mack or draft Patrick Mahomes have chances to be great. The Bengals will always be a 6-10 win team because there's always going to be teams that make those bold moves that build 12+ win championship contenders.

The only conclusion I see to this is the Bengals leaving in 2026 citing lack of fan support. I can't see them getting any public money for a stadium unless the team is sold and I think most buyers would likely want to move the team to increase value.

I think the Browns will beat the Bengals at home this week. Starting to wonder if Marvin were to lose to Cleveland, if Mikey boy decides to fire Marvin and then appoint Hue as the interim head coach. If they lost to Cleveland, the fan base would be pretty rabid and he might do that to appease the masses. Regardless, it is time for a change and Lewis needs to go, no later than season's end. If he seriously wants to consider hiring Hue, he should fire Lewis and give him a test run. I think he is one of those great coordinators that isn't head coaching material. His time management and some in game decisions may be worse than Marvin (Or at least close).

+1. With average luck the Browns would have a winning record with a win at the best team in football and their trending upward. Their defense is clearly better than the Bengals. The Bengals couldn't stop an undrafted rookie RB and Nick Chubb is an emerging talent. The Bengals hope boils down to their advantage at QB. Dalton needs to outplay Baker significantly to make up for all the Bengals current issues. If AJ doesn't play I'll take the Browns by more than a TD.

I don't think Mike would make a midseason change while in playoff contention but he's comfortable enough with Hue where he was willing to put a succession plan in place. Wouldn't surprise me if Lewis finally stepped down after the year.

In nine of 10 games this year the Bengals have allowed points in the final two minutes of the first half. That’s an incredible and almost impossible.

When Baltimore hit two field goals with less than two minutes left, it marked the third time in the last four games the opponent actually scored TWICE in the final two minutes.

They have given up 12 scores in the final two minutes of the first half, four more than any other team in the NFL.

...and how often do the Bengals attempt the same thing. Rarely. Marvin should listen to Herm...especially the end.

I feel the same way. I root for my home teams. It hurts when UC loses....I usually just shake my head when the Bengals and Reds do. If the Bengals left, I might still do fantasy football but don't know if I'd pay as much attention to any specific teams.

it is kinda relaxing though knowing they suck. maybe it gets better and your butt cheeks get back to clenching. i'll be excited if they make the playoffs this year but it'll be bittersweet. this is marv's worst potential playoff team and it'll get him another extension but i'm confident marv will gracefully exit stage left. even if he doesn't and hangs around as long as brown let's him, i'll still look fondly back on the times we had with marv. i never knew it could be exciting to be a bengal fan. such camaraderie!

Does this performance officially make Hue Jackson the biggest loser of all-time?

Defense is staggeringly bad. Offense without aj green isn't much better

RE: Bengals 2018
Done. Stop blaming injuries. This team is poorly coached. They have missed on majority of draft picks. Failed to develop anyone. Game prep is pathetic. In game coaching even worse. Some dudes like Atkins and Dunlap got paid and fat, happy and lazy. No heart. No will.

Mike Brown won’t do what he needs to do. He needs to clean house. Everywhere. Coaches. Players. Tobin. Brown needs to see this way (his way) is not the way to success in the NFL.

Some of you will insist the team has talent. And that injuries are to blame. I just laugh at the suckers who keep paying for tickets.

Side note...Lewis plan to drop Atkins as a spy or incoverage is ludicrous. I mean I know he doesn’t rush the passer well these days but that’s what you’re paying him big money to do.
