Embarrassment.

I’m not sure if Lewis is embarrassed. He should be.

This, Mike Brown, is why you can’t sell tickets. This team is a disgrace. Clean house. The playoffs are a sham. This team is not a playoff caliber team.

This defense has no hope against elite offenses.

This defense has been horrible all year against all teams. Indy. Atl. Even Miami was simply the dolphins finally losing too much on off line. They allowed Ravens back in a blowout. Tampa Bay would have been loss if not for Santa Jameis.

The whole approach is flawed. You don’t base a defense on creating turnovers. Turnovers as the product of a sound defense yes....as a philosophy to overcome bad defense is fools gold.

They are going to finish with 7 wins when they really could use picking at the top of each round. Because the talent isn’t as good as many bengals fans think. Ps Browns will beat them once and maybe twice.

They are bad against everyone but can do enough against non elite offenses that offense can get in a groove and win them some games

What an awful job getting Mixon the ball today. He’s easily your best offensive weapon with AJ out and he gets less than 10 touches, half of which came on basically the first drive.

And man did the Bengals get robbed overpaying for guys like Dunlap and Atkins. Those guys have to be the two most overrated and overpaid defensive players in the league.

Lifelong Bengal fan, not watching the game but I see we are getting our butts kicked pretty bad. Mike Brown doesnt care and has no sense of urgency to give us a winner. Why should we care? How stupid am I to continue to follow this sham of an organization.

And Mike Brown will not do anything about the state of the Bengals. Lewis will be back. Dalton will be back. The majority of the offensive line, db's linebackers - everyone. Brown is loyal to his employees, that is his strong point. But it is to a fault - he doesn't know when to let them go.

Jarr said Mike Brown either does not care or have a sense of urgency. I'll add one more - he does not know what he is doing. He lacks the skills to put together an elite program like the Saints, Steelers, Patriots, etc.

Saints have an excellent oline, but do you think they are getting worse "aging".

Is this a new low for the Marvin era? I can't recall a bigger beatdown under him. If they hadn't taken mercy on us, the Saints literally could have picked the number of points they wanted to score up to around 70 in my estimation.

This is pretty much who I thought the Bengals were this season. I predicted 6 wins, and with a couple early wins over teams we probably should have lost to 8-8 is still a possibility. The remaining schedule is going to be really tough on this team, and their bad defense.

Marvin Lewis quote of the day: "You can't lose sight of where we are."

This is no doubt in reference to their 5-4 record and 2nd place in their division. This is such a LOSER mentality. Fans aren't stupid, they can see this bloated record with victories over weak, non-playoff caliber teams. Fans can see how bad this team really is. I honestly think the Bengals ONLY goal is to just make the playoffs every year by any means necessary (weak schedule, backing their way in because other teams have won/loss). They have no interest in beating good teams or winning a championship. Glad I didn't waste my Sunday watching this mess.

8-8 is still "competitive" to Mike Brown. He has said time and time again that that is what he wants. Marvin is competitive. Good to see they let the D coordinator go but its time to make a major change...head coach. I don't know who that should be. One thing I do know - I am a hometown guy and want my teams to win but I do not get nearly as fired up about Bengals and Reds games as I do Bearcats games. I was on edge for most of the game on Saturday - I just kind of chuckled as the Bengals got throttled yesterday. It might be because each individual NCAA football game is more important than an individual NFL game but it is also because I expect exactly what Mike Brown does out of the Bengals - competitive teams. They weren't competitive yesterday but will probably finish around 8-8 or 9-7 which, unfortunately, might be good enough to keep Marv.

Agree but I think the finish with 6-7 wins. Marvin has one more year left on his contract. He won't be fired this year. Next year, after the Bengals go 9-7 MB will extend the contract and his lapdogs (no pun intended) will talk about how the team is on an upward trajectory.

They fired the defensive coordinator this morning. That will buy Lewis another year from Mike Brown. It's Brown showing the fans he "cares".

I think so too. Which is crazy because I don’t think this team is good at all. IMO The league is down big-time. You have 4-5 teams that are really good and everyone else is average at best to downright pitiful.

Mark - which 4 or 5 games left do you guarantee they'll win?

I can see Oakland, Denver, and Cleveland at home. Can't even guarantee that, either.

No Green, No Lawson. Have to think the ceiling is 8-8.

RE: Bengals 2018
So essentially you think they will win all their remaining home games and steal one on the road. Not sure where that is, because the Ravens and Browns are no longer gimmes. I don't see it, but assuming they do win 9 games, they may not be able to back their way into the playoffs again. I'd say the Chargers are in line for the 1st wild card, and suddenly the Titans are a threat to take the 2nd one.

It's funny that the headline today is the defense, with the firing of Austin. But Ken Broo brought up a good point, he thinks Lazor is getting a free pass. They managed 198 passing yards and 14 points against the 31st ranked pass defense in the NFL. Two weeks ago 10 points against the 28th ranked KC defense.
