Okay?

Statesboro isn’t in the top 5 in the conference.

Okay?

Guess we’re down at the bottom with Troy then. Oh well.

No. You’re dead last.

Okay?

Hahaha! This is killing you, isn't it?

The opinion of strangers on the internet has no bearing on my life. Sorry to disappoint

I know. Just having a little fun with you since you've been so adamant about Statesboro and its superiority over Boone. Boone is pretty awesome. There is nothing wrong with accepting this. I'm sure Statesboro is too, I just don't hear many people other than GS fans say so.

I love the mountains so yes the scenery is right up my alley but to each his own, this guys opinion is no more relevant that ours. Some would say FAU if they love the beach over the mountains. I would not. GS is the quintessential traditional college campus and life. Not much outside scenery but beautiful southern traditional campus. Lots of semantics and personal preferences. I will tell you Statesboro and the campus are light years different from when I graduated in 2001 and they keep building.

Also there is a huge disconnect between downtown Statesboro and the campus which is being worked on with the Blue Mile and still a huge disconnect with the old guard in Statesboro and the school. Some of the locals just cant stand college kids being college kids but will gladly pocket their money.

Okay, but to claim this guys opinion, and the others on this post, and Forbes, and Outdoor Magazine, and Southern Living, as having little validity, as you have in the past, just because you don't like App, is silly.

My opinion and yours are biased. These are all unbiased opinions, that have stacked up over the years, giving Boone a lot of credibility. I don't think it's fair to just say "to each his own" or "they've probably never been there".

Damn right! Nothing like a gameday in Boone NC! We've been trying to tell y'all.

Statesboro is better, i'm sure. TrueBlue will give us some reasons why.

Opinions are opinions, and opinion articles are opinion articles. Statesboro is also on this list though not any near as high as App.

I highly doubt that the writer - who's from Arizona - has actually been to either of our towns, but it's still good PR for App and good PR for the Sun Belt.

Somehow, I think I won't lose any sleep tonight.

I’ve been to both. Boone is better.

Of course it is. Just ask World B! 04-cheers

Its not every day you get a World B reference.

I think it's silly to compare Statesboro and Boone as tourist locations, but LoL at this. What does Statesboro not have that Troy, Monroe, Jonesboro, and Lafayette do? Is this just to try and troll TBD?

I totally agree. It's apple to oranges.

This ranking was for best college football towns. According to this guy, Boone has a big leg up on Statesboro in that category too.

If people want to discredit our ranking because of location, so be it. We are where we are, and we aren't moving. Big bonus for App.

Would love to hear where all our SB towns rank.

New poll? Best college town

You know where I think KBS really beats Paulson Stadium? It's not the mountain setting and I don't really think the crowd/tailgating is that much better.

KBS has all of the shops and businesses and restaurants within walking distance of the stadium. The only place within walking distance of our stadium I think you can eat at is a Subway on Lanier drive on the shadiest portion of the campus. Those apartments over there probably just need to be demolished and re-zoned for businesses. People who come into town from I-16 to the stadium just aren't going to see the nice plazas and nice part of campus that we have.

Pros and cons to both. I prefer the the walking distance to King St, but an open lot is cool too.

One massive tailgate versus medium size tailgates spread all over campus.

It is nice to walk a few hundred yards to get a drink after a game.

I like that the Subway is there for the sole fact that if I need to get something to eat and we don't have a proper tailgate setup then I can go somewhere and watch my food get prepared. Would not trust my food to come out of a kitchen unscathed while wearing App colors on gameday lol.

Except it's Subway 03-puke

Paulson Stadium has the set up in place, just need the right investors to demolish Willow Bend and Players Club Apartments (or whatever they are called now). Personally I've had some great memories at both of those apartments .......... but they Gottttttsssssss to goooooooo

The Blue Room, GATAs, Cowboys, Southern Billiards, and Millhouse are all right next to or around Paulson. There are more options than Subway, y’all.

I guess the GS fan that was complaining about the lack of options has never been to these places.

Players Club for life! Y'all should never let that place die. Best name for apts ever.

How would you like to cut a check for your daughter rent at the Players Club?

But So far I've only been to Boone and of course Statesboro for game days in conference. I like Statesboro better mostly because it's not such a cluster to get out of after a game (and thats comparing similar attendance numbers). Also, I've heard appy fans will be losing their parking next to the stadium when you build new dorms and (which is where I've tailgated last time I visited). The scenery is nice, but I really don't care about that when attending a football game (Though much better than some SEC schools like USC, Columbia is a dump). I just want to be able to tailgate and have easy access to bathrooms and the stadium. Other than that it's hanging out with old and new friends and people watching.

My father-in-law (Appy alum) will be taking his first trip to the 'boro this fall and I'll see what he thinks of the experience. He loves the Smokey mountains and Boone, so I'm sure he'll be a little biased.

Boone itself is better for post game food and drinks though. Statesboro really needs to step up its game and may do so with the "Blue Mile" project with new shops, restaurants, and bars. 04-cheers

Parking is actually going to increase once the construction is done. I'm excited to see the tailgate atmosphere once it's all done.
