But , after what they did last year, I fully expect the UAB Blazers to be in contention for the division and play in the Conference USA Title game. And when you have a coach like UAB has in Bill Clark, he inspires players and fans alike...To aim high...

Bill Clark didn't have his team ready for Coastal. Week 2 would have to be an anomaly for UAB to even finish 3rd in the West.

You say this like the same thing didn't happen last season.

Last season you beat Coastal. This season they took UAB to the woodshed. Talking about winning the west and playing in the CCG 2 days after the Coastal loss seems too optimistic.

I think we’ll definitely beat ODU and UTEP... We should be favored against UTSA and UAB at home and slight dogs to USM on the road. Hoping for two out of those three. I’m not counting LA Tech or FIU as L’s but would be surprised if we won either.

UNT, Wake, and LSU are all going to be huge challenges.

+1. Better than my early season prediction of 2-3 wins. It’s nice to have a coaching staff that looks competent.

The only teams in CUSA that I think would have a chance to beat Hawaii and UH in the 4th Quarter right now are FAU, UNT and Marshall. Somehow Bloomgren had us in those games so I’m feeling optimistic.

I think Rice may be in the middle of the conference right now. They are on the way to respectability.

On the other hand, one bad early season game does not mean the whole season is wasted. Last year we lost at Buffalo early. We finished the season by hanging 50 on the team that beat Buffalo.

That's the point. An early beatdown by a lesser opponent shouldn't result in increased expectations of team. Anyway, a lot of football to be played and it'll all sort itself out.
