Top 50 football players-ESPN
They put out a list and also published another article on players who they thought were snubbed:

Rittenberg: DE Sutton Smith, Northern Illinois

My man-crush on Sutton Smith is known by now, as I already pegged him to be the nation's top pass rusher, ahead of guys such as Nick Bosa. I don't see how a player who led the nation in tackles for loss (29.5) and ranked third in sacks (1.08 per game) is left off of this list. Smith undoubtedly will get more attention this year, especially with Jawuan Johnson transferring to TCU. But he'll still get his. He's too explosive of a player and NIU's defensive front should still be strong. North Texas quarterback Mason Fine is another Group of 5 star we'll be talking about in November.

Probably because he plays in the MAC. By my count, only 1 G5 player was listed and he as listed at #50....after rushing for nearly 2,000 yards last year.

We're not always invited to play in their space and overlooked. More chips for our shoulders when we play the big fellas.

The #1 player is from a G5 school.

Houston is G5, you're right. But the AAC is regarded as a borderline P5 conference and gets significantly more praise since they routinely put teams into the top 25.

Like I said, the #50 player rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 32 TD's last year. If he were on UCF or Houston he would be in the top 20.

ESPN overpays the "P5" and underpays us. They will always over-tout their favored products.

There’s actually three G5 players on the list.

I'm aware. Like I said, the AAC is kind of a borderline P5 conference. They get their praise unlike the Sun Belt, MAC, CUSA, etc.

Regardless, that's pathetic they listed only 3 players from G5 school and only 1 outside the AAC.

I wonder if they would have put Eric Fisher in that list. Just another waste of time, useless, P5-centric list.

He wouldn’t have made it. This is a preseason list and Fisher was coming off a 3rd team All-MAC appearance in 2011.
