Only if the AAC/MWC Champ has more than one loss. And even then it's still not a definite.

This isn’t 2014. We had Louisville back out at the last minute and the effect of the conference realignment was that we did have an atrocious schedule in and out of conference. This year, we have a SC program that will be near Top 10, NC State, and an FAU program that everyone thinks is a challenger. If we get to the end with only a respectable loss at SC, I think we’d be on the level.

lol yes, and that was a much different version of CUSA than it is now. AAC and MWC will both have a higher strength of schedule with actual ranked teams. UCF is already ranked.. and if they were to run the table and lose one game but have wins over UNC, Pitt, FAU, Memphis, Navy, Temple and USF you really think you get in over them? Not a chance. Currently USF and Memphis are both ranked above NC State and South Carolina.

clt asks what are the rules?

Ok. Here is the plan everyone. Every team in CUSA must win all of their OOC games. Then I think our champion will definitely go to the Access bowl.

Realistically if any of the top teams go undefeated they would be strong contenders for the access bowl. FAU is in the best position based on the preseason ranking votes. They also have a really tough schedule though. It would take some craziness to get them in even at 1 loss I think. 2 losses makes it incredibly improbable.

Marshall and FAU have the best shot, IMO. I think Marshall can climb the polls quickly with USC and NCST wins. It would work out better if the Marshall/FAU game was later in the season, so each could build up their win total and go into the game either ranked or near top 25.

If will help our cause if FAU can beat UCF. That game might be more important than the OK game.

Not that I see it, but UTSA beating Arizona State, Baylor and KState and if could run the conference would have to be in consideration.

However, I don't see it.

I will change that if FAU beats Oklahoma, but I don't see it happening.

All we need is someone who scheduled mediocre to OK "power" teams to go undefeated. Then we will have a great chance.

Ah yes, the Boise Model.

Lol, Boise beat top ten Oregon, ranked Va Tech on national TV in the reg. season. Meanwhile UCF beat no one besides Auburn in the NY6 that’s why no one gave them any thought for playoff

Also known as the non-CUSA model because no one in our conference can ever do it lol...

At the end of last season, Sagarin rated Boise's sos at 71 and UCF's at 72. Boise didn't play VaTech, but they did lose to VA. Oregon dropped out of the rankings entirely receiving no votes in the final polls after Boise beat them in the bowl game.

Prior to their Access Bowl pick, UCF had 3 wins over teams ranked in the top 25 teams of the final polls--Memphis 2x and USF 1x. 4 wins counting the Auburn game.

Not sure who Boise beat that was so impressive--SDSU and Fresno was about it. BYU? even ECU beat BYU, lol.

Dude get a clue, he wasn't talking about last year, its the entire BCS busting years they did. They would schedule the Oregon st. and Washington state's of the west, beat them, then run the WAC conference table, and later on the MWC table when they got even stronger, beating Oregon, VT etc that the poster is referring to. You AAC kids blow my mind on how narrow and ignorant some of you are. BTW, boise came up with their scheduling to copy Marshall of the late 90s ............

I like Marshall's combination of schedule and team better than FAU, LT, Middle Tennessee and North Texas. I see these as the five best teams. None of them have a realistic shot unfortunately. Even if they could get through their OOC schedule unscathed, the conference is going to be much more competitive this season.
