Thats a pretty awesome video

Stomach was in knots during that Ohio drive, and that gust of wind you felt was 85% of Ford Field sighing in relief when Spillane snagged that.

Had Ohio scored some thrilling last second TD, would've easily been the most painful loss in program memory. The 1999 MACC and 2000 CMU loss would've paled in comparison. We dodged a huge bullet.

that crowd at Ford Field was electric. On that defensive stand it was as loud as I’ve heard the Leo’s fans in the handful of games I’ve been to. Not like they’ve have much to cheer about.

I was at that game and can say that even after we won I was disappointed, as I thought we played lousy, and our underperformance, I thought, was going to cost us the cotton bowl.

As for biggest disappointments, I rank that game we had in the bag against Akron, where they ran one back to beat us, as the biggest jaw dropping weekend ruiner for me. Can't remember the year.

What we were witnessing was a level of pressure few (if any) MAC teams had ever faced previously. That 4-month build up of being ranked, ESPN game day, Cotton Bowl talk, was all culminating.

I glanced at the sidelines during the 3rd quarter, and the Ohio players were dancing around and loose, and our guys were standing there stiff as boards. And Terrell made some uncharacteristically bad throws in the 4th quarter. You could see the weight of the season in their heads.

I understood Cubit's controversial decision in that game, even though it backfired. We were backed up on our own 1 yard line. Instead of punting it and giving Akron great field position, probably in our own side of the field, we took the safety so we could kick it deep.

I'm glad I didn't watch that one.

From what I recall, refs missed two very obvious blocks in the back, so that TD should've been nullified anyhow.

I was there at that Akron game in the student section just standing there in disbelief like what just happened as the Akron sideline ran over and paraded onto the field, that was sickening to watch.

It was a good call, the odds of a KR for touchdown are much lower than a 35-yard touchdown pass (or something going wrong with the punt). You play the blatant odds unless you have a quirk of momentum or confidence on your side.

Frickin' MAC refs, man. Anyone remember the call about 3-4 seasons ago when the other team got a penalty and they ran time off of the clock on our offense, killing a two-minute drive attempt before halftime?

Expect Cuse to trot out a Walk On true Freshman to be our Long Snapper. Our main guy broke his ankle off campus sometime over the summer. He is not expected to be ready for the home opener.

2007. I was at that game. The student section was just stunned. We couldn't believe what just happened.

The refs later apologized for missing the block in the back call. The whole thing was so crummy...

Yes...sometime over the summer (not in practice).

We're not any better there, we have only one LS on the roster, a walk-on freshman. I hope he has a competent backup!

RE: August Syracuse Thread
Cuse seems to offer a LS as a Walk-On. If he makes the 1st Team he can earn a full ride. Keller is on a Full Ride after starting as a Walk-On. The new walk-on LS is the heir apparent to take over for Keller after he graduates. LS'ers seem to be almost normal sized guys...6', 200lbs is pretty common.

The new Red Shirt Rule can help this year. A true freshman can play in up to four games this year and still keep his redshirt. It really helps out the non-football factory schools.
