Do we have a QB that can complete a bubble screen? When screens were attempted last season they were all to often unchatchable or barely catchable.

I am just not sold on Childress as a legit college QB. That said I hope that he proves me wrong as I think if he has improved this could be a special season.

And even more important, Childers is playing for a coach where I am not sure if a QB can really succeed anymore. It could be a very bad combination. This is not a QB-developing friendly system right now, to say the least.
I scrolled down and saw who was responding to this post and it was MD. I knew exactly what it would be about without even reading it. That’s pretty sad. You ever get sick of talking about the same exact thing on literally every thread? “Carey and the offensive system suck” Cool we heard you the first 500 times....
If you ignore/block him you won't miss a thing. Trust me. Try it for a week and I'll bet you don't remove it.

You ever get sick of talking about the same exact thing multiple times on literally every thread?

+1. It never ends. Exactly as you said, same points every single thread.

The beauty of it all is that MD has started to create support for Carey that otherwise wouldn't be there. People have gotten so tired of his redundancy that they have taken to pointing out the obvious - it's not on Carey! MD has become his own worst nightmare - a Carey promoter!

RE: Second practice notes
Nice to see everyone back! And in mid-season form!

Except for me. I am in pre-season form at best.

Funny how last year I would say, "man, I am outta shape!" And this year I say, "man, I gotta work out to get back in the shape I was in last year!"

He didn’t have pick problems in the past so I don’t think it will be a problem in the future. Isn’t it doing disservice to Sutton to tell him to stop trying? Just put someone else in...

It does worry me a bit, because he's going to have to take more chances this year in order to move the team down the field regularly. If he can't do that without throwing picks, we might as well have stuck with Santa at QB. Too soon to say it will be a problem, but still...

I don't think there will be any risk taking because I really believe Harbison will be extremely productive and all Childers has to do is complete the wide open passes that will be available due to our dominant running game. I really look forward to seeing long runs breaking often like during the days of Turner and Wolfe...

I'd also like to see us use whatever tricks are available to drive the opposition defense nuts. One of the most brilliant uses of a player I have ever seen was how the Bears used William "Refrigerator" Perry at the goal line. I would love to see us do the same and put a huge defensive lineman in the backfield when we need just a few yards for a TD. Let them try to tackle him.

I am also a fan of using two RBs at times. Keep the D guessing!

Wasn't Sutton Smith recruited as a RB? Not sure he has the size for a goal line offense though.

No, he doesn't have the brute size and I would never put additional risk of injury on him. I'm talking more the 300-lb. type lineman. Have him run behind our O-line.
