Call couldn't coach then or now, but they always equate Penny's lack of experience with Josh pastner 07-coffee3

I know Penny can coach and I appreciate the NBA approach but part of what hurt Josh is that his focus was so NBA he forgot to be a college coach. College requires a different level of skill coaching wise and different strategies than pro ball. How quick can Penny pick upon those strategies and would he be willing to adapt his style to win? I can’t wait to find out.

I think the biggest thing that hurt Josh was that players didn't respect or trust him. Penny does not have that problem. Coaching ain't rocket surgery. And there's more than one way to skin a blind squirrel.

I think that was part of Josh's problem...

He just didn't know the game well enough but he wasn't willing to accept help. I am not sure if that was due to insecurity or arrogance.

He was told by at least two big time coaches he needed an enforcer coach along with X/O coach.

He knew the game well enough. He was indecisive and didn't trust his own judgment and was insecure about it so he wouldn't trust anybody else's either. The lack of respect from the kids at least in part stemmed from that.
