I think 14-0, 13-1 are not realistic. Our best realistic record is 12-2. With that record we are not going to the Access Bowl. UNLESS the entire conference kicks major ass in the OOC business.

Care to guess how many of the current teams in CUSA have ever had an undefeated season at the FBS level? Take the total undefeated seasons, divide that by total number of seasons played at that level, and that's your odds.

A 13-0 FAU team only goes to the playoff if Oklahoma goes 12-1 and wins the Big 12. Truth is, if Oklahoma loses to FAU, they will probably lose to TCU and possibly Texas and West Virginia too.

If FAU goes undefeated and Oklahoma and UCF finish with one loss..........then FAU goes to...............the Access as CFP #5......... rigged system.......you cannot forget that. In addition to that insult, Oklahoma makes the playoffs cause they have one loss and went undefeated in the Big 12

This isn’t 2014. We had Louisville back out at the last minute and the effect of the conference realignment was that we did have an atrocious schedule in and out of conference. This year, we have a SC program that will be near Top 10, NC State, and an FAU program that everyone thinks is a challenger. If we get to the end with only a respectable loss at SC, I think we’d be on the level.

FAU with a win over OK and UCF and only if OK stands Ok at the end of the season if not well..and of course this is assuming they make it to CCG and don't suffer an upset.

Fun to talk and speculate, isn’t it. Most likely someone will surprise and win the league this year like FAU did last year.

Any CUSA team would have to go undefeated or have an FAU loss to OU in OT as their only loss to make the Access.
AAC and MWC have heavy lobbies and perceived better leagues - they would get first shot. Jmo

This is pretty much true. Even if CUSA did super on the field in OOC. It takes years to change perceptions.

But the star coaching power of an FAU or FIU could buy either one of those teams a little wiggle room vs an AAC or MWC with the same record.

I'd say UCF proved that with about as good a resume as a G5 can put together, last year, even before the bowl.

Not just perceived. They do better in games against 'P5' and other 'G5' than we do. We need MT to beat Vandy... FIU to beat Indiana... UTSA to beat Baylor... etc. Until we stop being bad, that's gonna be the case.

lol yes, and that was a much different version of CUSA than it is now. AAC and MWC will both have a higher strength of schedule with actual ranked teams. UCF is already ranked.. and if they were to run the table and lose one game but have wins over UNC, Pitt, FAU, Memphis, Navy, Temple and USF you really think you get in over them? Not a chance. Currently USF and Memphis are both ranked above NC State and South Carolina.

FAU, to go to Play-offs would have to go 13-0 AND OK have a one-loss BIG-12 title season. That is the only scenario and, even then, a very minuscule one.

We need all of CUSA to do well OOC. (And I'll even root for UNT OOC because of Sideshow).

I also realize that no one gives a frenchmans f#%+ whether or not I root for them. And I don't mean to leave out other great posters from the board as there are many (PSC Niner I love your passion and fire for Charlotte) but let's kick ass OOC!

Not meaning to have a kumbaya moment, but for the time being we need to put our differences aside and really root for our conference mates. Then put the smack in high gear in conference play and let the cards fall. Good luck guys.

I'll always root for the underdog, but I'm confident OU will handle FAU easily.
