Philip Gaines had a rough first game for Buffalo. Local articles: one, two & three.

Boz in a slump. Missed another FG today and now his first XP of the year. Not good news for a kicker to be messing with his psyche.

Boz made his other XP's. Pittsburgh ended up losing but I don't think you can blame him (I'd say the defense giving up 6 TD passes is more at fault). But the Steelers can't be happy with an 0-1-1 start after 2 games.

Other teams are having more kicker issues than Pittsburgh. Minnesota's rookie kicker I think missed 3 FG's today including two alone in overtime and oddly, the NFL has had two tie games in its first two weeks.

McDonald played after missing week 1. Had a few catches, but the Steelers other TE, Jesse James, had a career game. Vance is more of a weapon than James, so I expect his touches to increase as he gets more practice time. Boswell needs to snap out of his funk. Even in the extra points he made, he looked shaky.

Wow. If there are two things I've hated, twitter and Chiefs fans are among them, though Chiefs fans are pretty damn hard to find.

Given his struggles over the past couple seasons, if this is a serious injury, that could be the end of his NFL career.

Maybe he'll come back to Rice and finish up and boost our APR!

It's his elbow... not sure how serious. But the Bills definitely need him back... especially after Vontae Davis just decided to.... err... retire ... at halftime.

And luckily not Mason Crosby who missed 4 FG and 1 PAT amidst a 8 point loss for the Packers. 04-jawdrop

Dan Bailey missed 2 field goals for Minnesota but made a clutch field goal late to help the Vikings beat the Eagles. It's not easy being an NFL kicker.

Christian Covington not active for the Texans for the 2nd straight week. He seems injury prone and I kind of wonder if his days for the Texans are coming to an end?

Ellerbee was claimed by the Seahawks on Monday, but was inactive for today's game.

For anyone disappointed in the last two nights in women's Rice action, you can take solace in that the Owls are having a strong Thursday Night NFL game. Vance McDonald just caught a TD pass for Pittsburgh, and Chris Boswell is 5-5 in XP's, and has a 50-yard field goal too.

RE: Owls in the NFL 2018
McDonald caught another TD today in Pittsburgh's big comeback win. He's tied his career high for receptions in a season now with 30. Bryce Callahan getting a lot of love in the SNF game against Minnesota (although as I type this he was just beat on a 2-point conversion by Minnesota late in the game).

And this is off-topic I realize but I thought the Bears' colors are Navy Blue and Orange? Their uniforms sure look red to me tonight - maybe the color on my TV is off.

They are Blue and Orange. I think the color temperature of the broadcast was off as the orange looked neon red. Similarly, the down markers were oddly hued as well, which leads me to believe it was a broadcast issue.

RE: Owls in the NFL 2018
I was getting more orange than red on my TV (here in Central VA). I didn't really sense any red on the sleeves, etc. Perhaps your local provider was having problems, or your local NBC affiliate (as I think you're both in Houston).

I found it interesting that during the intros, NBC always shows the PFF positional ratings for each player. And Bryce was rated the third best out of over 100 CBs in the NFL, heading into the game. It sure helps to have a pass rush like Chicago's, but I thought that was an interesting factoid. Despite being beat for the touchdown, I thought he held up pretty well in coverage.
