Yeah with the new rules (at least as I recall and understand them) we could get him back and play him in our final 4 games while still counting this a redshirt year which wouldn't be too bad of a deal at all for him and for UC.

Reminds me of when we had Hooey and Lefeld as the anchors....that was a great O-Line as well.

I think pretty much every G5 team has to be development in the trenches outside of the lucky snag of a freshman starter like Houston got with Oliver.

Metz will be a development project, but I recall hearing a lot of positives about Harper in a Coach Crook interview. He had offers to P5 programs and chose to pursue basketball. A guy with that size and has the footwork of a basketball player can only help him. I don't know if he can redshirt or not, but Crook said the biggest challenge for him was getting used to the speed of football again, and putting on football weight. I doubt he will be as big of a project as some may think.

Colin Woodside is 6'5 and up to 305 as a freshman. Seems we have brought in a lot more size than we have in the past. Not as many TE/DE who switch to OL. Corey Cunningham was around 260lbs when he came to UC and is listed at 305 by the Cardinals. Deyshaun Bond is 6'1 sub 300lbs.

I understand that size and weight don't equate to talent, but it is nice getting in some guys who are already big.

I don't consider Whyle's injury - assuming of course he heals properly - a major deal. He wasn't cracking the 2 deep. If the RS rules hadn't changed I suspect he coulda been held out this year anyway. As is, he'll get in at some point this year. Wasn't likely to be a difference maker this year either way.

I imagine having a coach that used to play on the line has to help in recruiting.
