Exclamation USA TODAY PRE-SEASON POLL
Florida State #19

Utah just a few off top 25. With an opening win could be in there when they visit.

Iowa with a few votes.

And your Huskies with 1 vote.
Attaboy Rod!

Maybe since CMU owns the Huskies , Bonamego gave them the vote to fatten up the Huskies before Sep 22

It's not the size of the vote that counts, but the vote in the size that does, or something like that.

What is this "bowl victory" that you speak of? I've never heard of it, at least for NIU.

There were a few bowl victories in the past - when dinosaurs ruled the earth.

Once upon a time, many moons ago, I attended the Silicon Valley Bowl in San Jose, and the Huskies actually won! Think, children, of how great those days were when we actually won a bowl game and the expectations were that we would actually win! And - think of it, kids - the players actually wanted to be at the bowl and were thrilled and honored to be selected. But, children, this only happens in fairy tales now. How sad, indeed. Don't cry now, children! 03-weeping Remember, there are always VHS tapes of those good old days. 02-13-banana The end.

That bowl game was our first in 20 years...If you consider going to a bowl game once every 20 years against Troy State of the Sun Belt Conference "great"...then you've got some low expectations...We've gone to 5 bowl games in Carey's time here...and although we've lost every bowl game the last 5 years...we are playing significantly better opponents (Duke and FSU of the ACC, Marshall of the C-USA, and perennial Group of 5 powerhouse Boise of the MWC)...in addition, we've made it a habit of beating Big Ten schools on their turf (Iowa and Purdue in 2013, Northwestern in 2014, and Nebraska in 2017)

+1. Our bowl victories are over Troy, Arkansas state and Fresno. Our losses are TCU, USF, FSU, Utah st, Marshall, Boise, Duke. One bad loss in there is Louisiana tech in 08.

The price of success I guess. Stay small and play conf.USA or sunbelt teams in bowls and win more. Or step up and try to get occasional wins vs bigger and better programs.

Not just losing but how they've lost. Boise was probably the worst football game I've ever seen us play. Boise was playing against air. Utah State should have been a win, and Duke and Marshall should have been close games at least. In the early regular season I think we would have managed it - but we never seem to be prepared for bowl games.

We lost that one because Ryan Graham was playing...and sorry folks...he is the worst QB i've ever seen in Red and Black
