Really tough out-of-conference road slate.
Underwhelming out-of-conference home slate. We really can't schedule CUSA and SunBelt teams for home games?

Do we at least get a future home game with Youngstown and Dayton out of this?
One of these years the game at Oakland will be on a Saturday. I want to go to a game there but not on a Tuesday night.

Actually looks like decent schedule for a Bronco team with 6 new players. Hopefully those 6 can get some college minutes on the friendly home floor.

UC Riverside has 6-11, 7-0 & 7-2 players

Name programs from name conferences but outside of Scum all are in rebuild mode. If noteworthy beating Ole Miss, Dayton and Oakland couple
With a strong MAC performance would position WMU for an at large bid.

The problem is that none will be threatening themselves so losses to them compound the problem.

Maybe the plan is to expose the newbies to larger venues a handful of higher rated talent that makes MAC likewise less intimidating.

It may also play into a wider footprint recruiting wise.

Kermit Davis the HC @ Ole Miss was at Middle Tennessee State university For 16 years winning conference 3x conference tournament 2x and is 3-2 in the NIT 0-2 inthe CIT.

An assistant at LSU and Mississippi State. Several JUCO power houses. He understands the plight of mid major programs getting quality regular season competition. Also understands as he rebuilds from the bottom up he needs games that are winnable.

Possible return date but don’t count on it.

Hawk spent sometime with Brad Underwood now at Illinois. Maybe time to schedule up.

But aren't we in a rebuilding mode as well?

My point is that in most given seasons these programs are in the running for being seeded in the dance. Beat them and you have a leg up. But this year all are starting over or at a lower rung. A victory here doesn't assures increased chance. WMU still needs to win the MACC.

IMO WMU isn’t rebuilding. Significant adjustment without Wilder. But they’d be doing it anyway. I like the additions and if Seth remains healthy playing to his potential they can be in the mix. The league doesn’t offer much margin for error. An injury, bad chemistry or just peaking too soon provides an open door.

Just a hunch, no real knowledge, but I'm guessing if teams from those leagues (and MVC) are going to go on the road they want to play "up" and get paid, not go to a Mid-Major with 5300-seat arena.

Josh Davis needs to be the man this year.
